Free disease screening for 325 women in difficult circumstances

Doctors from the Kien Giang Provincial Center for Disease Control advise women on health.

At Tan Hiep District Medical Center, a team of doctors and medical staff from the Kien Giang Provincial Center for Disease Control provided gynecological examinations, general ultrasounds, cancer screening, and health consultations to 325 women in difficult circumstances; of which, 225 women were given free medication.

Through screening, doctors discovered 33 cases of ovarian cysts and uterine fibroids; of which, 4 cases were indicated for surgery. The Association for Supporting Poor Patients of Kien Giang province will support the surgery costs for these cases.

The total cost of screening and treatment of gynecological diseases is over 80 million VND, sponsored by the Kien Giang Province Association for Supporting Poor Patients and the Kien Giang Province Center for Disease Control.

It is expected that in May 2025, the Association for Supporting Poor Patients of Kien Giang province will continue to coordinate with units to organize free gynecological screening and treatment for women in difficult circumstances in some industrial parks in Chau Thanh district.
