In the past 3 days, social networks in Phu Quoc ( Kien Giang ) have been abuzz when a student claiming to be in grade 12 at a school in Phu Quoc City (school name withheld) posted information about the school requesting a payment of money called "Support money for the 2025 National High School Exam" (2025 High School Graduation Exam - PV).

Phu Quoc social network was stirred up by the news that a student posted that the school requested money to support the 2025 high school graduation exam.

According to the posted content, each student must pay the amount of 500,000 VND, 700,000 VND and 1.5 million VND. In addition, students from well-off families can pay at a higher level.

The post immediately attracted many interested people with indignant comments. Many people said that the amount of money collected was very large, what was the purpose of collecting it when teachers who do the exam work are paid by the State budget.

On the afternoon of June 25, a leader of the Steering Committee for the 2025 High School Graduation Exam of the Phu Quoc City People's Committee said that according to reports from the principals of high schools in the area, this fee is collected by the parent representative committee according to annual practice. This year, the Phu Quoc City People's Committee has provided funding for this, so it has asked the schools to return the money to the parents.

Phu Quoc City currently has 3 high schools, including: Phu Quoc High School, Duong Dong High School and An Thoi High School. The 2025 high school graduation exam in Phu Quoc will take place at these 3 schools, with 1,335 candidates taking the exam.
