Phu Tho: 1,000 babies born by in vitro fertilization

Leaders of Phu Tho province presented flowers to congratulate the 5th anniversary of the establishment of Phu Tho Obstetrics and Pediatrics Hospital.

At the ceremony, Doctor Pham Thai Ha, Director of Phu Tho Obstetrics and Pediatrics Hospital, said that over the past 5 years, the Hospital has made continuous efforts to improve the quality of medical examination and treatment, affirming its reputation and brand, becoming one of the trusted addresses in maternal and child health care in the northern midland and mountainous region.

The number of hospital beds increased from 560 to 630. The total number of patients coming for examination and treatment increased from more than 93 thousand to more than 142 thousand per year. Total revenue increased from 225 billion VND to more than 441 billion VND per year (an increase of 96%).

With a synchronous and modern equipment system, a team of highly qualified and dedicated doctors and nurses, the Hospital has successfully deployed many advanced techniques, bringing happiness to thousands of families in the province and neighboring areas.

To date, 1,000 healthy babies have been born thanks to IVF techniques at the Center for Reproductive Support and Andrology with a success rate of 55%, equivalent to the success rate at major reproductive support centers in the country and the world .

In addition, the Hospital also promotes the implementation of many new technical services in the fields of obstetrics and gynecology, pediatrics, paraclinical and other health care fields (on average, 10 new techniques are implemented each year).

The premature baby girl born at 24 weeks of pregnancy, weighing 550 grams, was successfully raised at Phu Tho Maternity and Pediatrics Hospital.

In particular, in the field of Pediatrics, the Hospital has received and successfully treated nearly 300 cases of premature infants, including extremely premature infants (born before the 28th week of pregnancy); successfully saved the life of a pregnant woman with a history of 3 cesarean sections, a fourth pregnancy with central placenta previa, placenta accreta; successfully treated many cases of postpartum hemorrhage due to uterine atony; and severe eclampsia.

Successfully raised many premature and extremely premature babies at gestational age of only 24 weeks with very low weight such as 550gr, 600gr, 700gr,...; successfully performed laparoscopic surgery on many complicated cases such as diaphragmatic hernia, congenital choledochal cyst, acute intussusception...

Deputy Secretary of Phu Tho Provincial Party Committee Bui Thi Minh requested that in the coming time, Phu Tho Obstetrics and Pediatrics Hospital needs to focus on innovating management in a modern, effective, patient-centered direction; applying an advanced, transparent hospital management model, publicizing service quality; shortening the examination and treatment process, reducing waiting time, and enhancing comprehensive care.

Strengthening the application of science, technology and digital transformation; building an open academic environment, encouraging research and innovation; boldly applying modern technology, especially artificial intelligence and electronic medical records; connecting data with upper-level hospitals and the health insurance system to improve treatment efficiency, while meeting the requirements of transparency and smart governance.

Actively cooperate with medical training institutions and central hospitals, send staff for specialized training, and at the same time develop remuneration policies, create motivation and a favorable working environment for medical staff.
