Previously, in Tham hamlet, there was a prolonged heavy rain that caused serious subsidence and landslides in 2 households. The subsidence hole was estimated to be over 9m in diameter and about 8m deep, exposing the entire foundation and digging about 1.5m into the solid foundation of the house.
Specifically, at Mrs. Bui Thi Thuong's house, a sinkhole 8m wide and 4m deep appeared, eating into the house's foundation, threatening the safety of 5 people. Mr. Bui Van Yen's house had a landslide that collapsed 3m of the kitchen wall, with an estimated volume of 6,000m³ of rock and soil, threatening to push the entire house into the river.
Immediately after receiving the information, the Commune Police force coordinated with the Military Command and local organizations to support people in evacuating, moving all property of two households, and at the same time putting up warning signs and ropes in dangerous areas, not allowing people to return until safety was ensured.
Muong Hoa Commune Police advise people to proactively monitor the weather, not to live or travel in areas that have subsided or collapsed; to evacuate promptly if they detect unusual signs such as cracks in the ground or rocks falling; to regularly update information from the authorities to respond promptly, ensuring the safety of life and property.
