Water cannons welcome 193 passengers of Philippine Airlines to Da Nang for the first time

This flight marks the official opening of Philippine Airlines' direct flight route connecting Manila - Da Nang from July 1.

According to the plan, Philippine Airlines will operate 3 flights/week on Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Saturdays, and is expected to increase to 4 flights/week from November 2025.

The airline uses Airbus A321 aircraft with 199 seats (including 12 business class seats).

The welcoming program for the first flight of Philippine Airlines was solemnly held at the international arrivals area of Da Nang International Airport, with the participation of leaders of the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Da Nang City, Da Nang International Terminal Investment and Operation Joint Stock Company, representatives of Philippine Airlines and other units.

Many activities to welcome the first flight of Philippine Airlines such as water cannon ceremony, traditional art performance, ribbon cutting ceremony, giving flowers and souvenirs to passengers, taking souvenir photos...

“Philippine Airlines’ launch of flights to Da Nang took place on the first day of the (new) Da Nang City’s official operation with an expanded geographical space and ecosystem of tourism products and services,” said Ms. Nguyen Thi Hoai An, Deputy Director of the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Da Nang City.

According to Ms. An, Da Nang continues to diversify international markets, including markets near Southeast Asia, through many promotion and advertising programs.

Special attention is paid to attracting airlines to open more routes to the city.

The new Philippine Airlines route to Da Nang has increased the total number of flights from Manila to Da Nang to 12 flights per week, contributing to the exchange of passengers between the two urban centers of the two countries.

According to statistics from the General Statistics Office, in 2024, the total number of Filipino visitors to Da Nang will reach more than 65,000.

In the first 5 months of 2025, the total number of Filipino visitors to Da Nang reached more than 49,000, an increase of 2.26 times over the same period in 2024.

Philippine Airlines is the national airline of the Philippines. Its fleet of Boeing, Airbus and De Havilland aircraft operates direct flights from Manila, Cebu, Clark and Davao to 31 domestic and 38 international destinations in Asia, North America, Australia and the Middle East.

Currently, Philippine Airlines operates a total of 24 direct flights per week from Da Nang, Ho Chi Minh City and Hanoi to the Philippines.
