Phuong My Chi enters the film industry with the main role in the movie "Ancestral House"

“The Ancestors’ House” is produced by 17 Production and distributed by CJ HK Entertainment. Huynh Lap will play the male lead and also serve as the screenwriter and director of the film.

According to the producer, the film "Ancestral House" is expected to be filmed in 30 days and will be released to audiences nationwide at the end of 2024.

The film is a comedy and horror genre, focusing on family affection so that viewers can feel the core values inside a special house passed down through many generations.

The film builds a multi-perspective story revolving around many different generations in the family, so the cast in the film includes many generations. Among them, the most notable is singer Phuong My Chi - a "gen Z" artist who is loved with a series of songs with millions of listens in recent times. This is the first time My Chi has taken on the female lead role in a movie.

Phuong My Chi will play My Tien - a character who is the same age as her in real life, facing problems that her generation is going through, such as disconnection with the adults in the family, differences in work and life perspectives... The film also requires Phuong My Chi to show mature, profound, psychological acting of a child, grandchild and sister in the family.

Phuong My Chi’s “older brother” in the film is Huynh Lap, who plays Gia Minh. Loved by audiences for his diverse roles in previous web series and film projects, Huynh Lap will continue to bring humor and wit to “The Ancestors’ House” while also being mysterious and captivating.

Spending a lot of time on the new film since developing the script, participating in the production process and directing, Huynh Lap has a special connection with the character Gia Minh - the eldest grandson of the family, shouldering many expectations of his grandparents and parents, and also loving his younger sister My Tien very much.

“The Ancestors’ House” brings together many veteran film faces such as Meritorious Artist Hanh Thuy, actors Dao Anh Tuan, Huynh Dong, Puka, Nguyen Anh Tu. According to the producer, in addition to more than 20 famous actors, the film also has more than 400 extras participating, serving the grand scenes.

The film is scheduled to be released in theaters nationwide in December.
