Meo Vac: Merging communes – Creating room for development

Implementing the policy of rearranging commune-level administrative units in Ha Giang province. In recent times, the Party Committee and the government of Meo Vac district have done a good job of informing and propagating policies and guidelines of higher levels. At the same time, they have proactively reviewed the facilities and staff to have appropriate arrangements, creating room for development in the next period.

Implementing Resolution No. 160 of the 18th Provincial People's Council on the arrangement of commune-level administrative units in Ha Giang province in 2025, the three communes of Khau Vai, Lung Pu and Can Chu Phin of Meo Vac district will be merged. After the merger, the new commune will be named Khau Vai and its administrative headquarters will be located in Lung Pu commune.

Through propaganda, the majority of cadres and party members of Meo Vac district agreed with the policy of merging commune level.

From 18 communes and towns, after the merger, Meo Vac district will be reduced to 6 communes. The number of commune-level administrative units after the arrangement will be reduced by 63%. Based on the Resolution issued by the Provincial People's Council, currently, the Organizing Committee of Meo Vac District Party Committee is focusing on reviewing the facilities, civil servants and public employees to make appropriate arrangements.

This merger not only streamlines the apparatus and expands the development space, but also creates a premise for the state to focus more on investment and care for the people. Therefore, the majority of cadres and party members agreed with the policy of merging at the commune level.
