Fuel the profession

Over the years, the Provincial Journalists Association has made many innovations in its methods of operation. The organization of the association has been strengthened and improved, and the number of members has increased day by day. The association currently has 186 members active in 4 branches and 2 affiliated clubs (Senior Journalists Club, Female Journalists Club). The association regularly coordinates with press agencies to do a good job of political and ideological education for journalist members; organizes the dissemination and strict implementation of Party directives and resolutions, the Press Law, and 10 regulations on professional ethics for Vietnamese journalists in conjunction with studying and following Ho Chi Minh's ideology, morality, and style. Thereby, positively impacting and raising awareness of self-training in ethics, working style, and enhancing social responsibility of journalists.

Membership recruitment has always been a focus. In the past term, the Association admitted 51 new members, bringing the total number of members to 186 (an increase of 10 members compared to the beginning of the term); of which nearly 90% of members have university degrees or higher. Identifying professional training for members as a key task, the Association has coordinated with the Center for Journalism Training - Vietnam Journalists Association , press agencies to organize 5 professional training courses for over 400 members with new topics suitable for each type of journalism; organizing field trips to create journalistic works at units and localities in the province. In parallel, the Association has paid attention to caring for the material and spiritual lives of members through directing branches to organize exciting and useful sports playgrounds, contributing to improving health, solidarity, exchange and learning among members and journalists.

Journalist Giang Thanh, a member of the Provincial Journalists Association, shared: “Through training sessions and field trips, we have gained more experience and skills in journalism in many fields. Through that, we have learned from skilled journalists and discussed issues that are still difficult to solve in our work. This has improved our professional expertise and the quality of our journalistic works.”

Notably, in order to create a professional "playground", the Association has advised the Provincial People's Committee to organize an annual press award. Over 6 seasons, from 2019 to present, the Organizing Committee has received 706 press works. Of which, 234 awards were given to authors with outstanding works on the occasion of the annual Spring Press Festival. The Association also coordinated with relevant departments and branches to organize the Tuyen Quang press competition "Joining hands to build new rural areas", the Skillful mass propaganda competition; supported the creation and selection of high-quality press works to participate in the national press award...

Building a strong journalism team

From the Association's orientation and the appropriate investment of the press agency, many authors have dared to think, to commit, to work hard to create high-quality press works, many of which have won high prizes in competitions such as: Tuyen Quang Newspaper Journalists Association won the 17th and 18th National Press Awards for 2 years; won the National Press Award for Party Building (Golden Hammer and Sickle Award) for 5 consecutive years; B prize in the second political contest to protect the Party's ideological foundation in 2022; 2 Encouragement prizes in the National Press Award for Youth Union work and youth and children's movements in 2024; C prize in the National Press Award "For the cause of Vietnamese education"... The Provincial Radio and Television Journalists Association won 1 C prize in the 8th National Press Award for Party Building (Golden Hammer and Sickle Award) in 2023; 1 Gold prize, 1 Silver prize, 2 Bronze prizes at the 16th National Radio Festival in 2024; 2 Encouragement prizes in the 4th Political Essay Contest on Protecting the Party's Ideological Foundation in 2024...

Comrade Ma Van Chuc, Permanent Vice President of the Provincial Journalists Association, spoke at the conference on High-quality Journalism in the context of digital transformation.

The Association at all levels operates in a disciplined manner, innovating the Association's operational methods in a practical manner, closely linked to the professional activities of journalist members at press agencies. Accordingly, Tuyen Quang Newspaper promotes innovation in print journalism in a specialized direction, electronic journalism in a multimedia direction and actively promotes through social platforms.

The Provincial Radio and Television Station has covered 100% of the province with live news and current affairs programs making up 3/5 programs/day. The station has improved the quality of its columns and news bulletins.

Tuyen Quang Literature and Arts Magazine actively creates, improves the quality of works, maintains many attractive pages and columns with many genres.

The quality of journalistic works in the Associations and the political and professional level of journalists in Tuyen Quang are increasingly improved. Many collectives and individuals working in press agencies in the province have been awarded at all levels. Notably, during the term, 17 members were awarded the "For the cause of Vietnamese journalism" Medal. In April 2025, the Provincial Journalists Association was honored to be one of 21 outstanding units nationwide to receive the Emulation Flag of the Vietnam Journalists Association.

Comrade Ma Van Chuc, Permanent Vice President of the Provincial Journalists Association said: “Promoting the 100-year tradition of revolutionary journalism, with a strong political stance, a pure heart, a humane spirit, and integrity in the profession, the team of journalists in the province will continue to affirm their role as pioneers on the ideological and cultural front of the Party, for a professional, humane, and modern revolutionary journalism. In the journey ahead, the Association will continue to promote its role as a bridge between journalists and authorities at all levels and the people, improve the quality of its activities, and actively contribute to the overall development of the province in the new period.”
