Phuong My Chi and Kha Lau are "thousand-faced queens"
In the "stormy" performance, Phuong My Chi impressed with the vọng cổ section in the cải lương play Tiếng Trống Mê Linh , evoking the tragic and heroic image of female general Trưng Trắc; meanwhile, Kha Lau performed the Kunqu section, a genre of Chinese opera.
The two traditional theater forms do not mix but support each other, preserving their own identity in a special performance.
Chinese music diva Truong Leung Dinh said this performance gave her the feeling "like watching a vocal circus act".
"It was an acrobatic performance with two intricately intertwined voices, flying and spinning. But no matter how technically difficult the moves were, they always landed gracefully and elegantly, ending perfectly," commented Zhang Liangying.
This judge added that this was an extremely difficult and complicated performance, the solos and harmonies were constantly changing, but Phuong My Chi and Kha Lau were like two "thousand-faced queens".
"The two of them together brought life to an army on stage through their duet. Yet they made us feel immersed in a seemingly effortless performance," she shared.
To Huu Bang said "so awesome" because he couldn't imagine how the two songs would sound together. But unexpectedly "the performance was surprisingly beautiful", "in terms of overall performance and vocals, this is probably the most complete team, well done".
To Huu Bang especially praised Phuong My Chi: "After a few rounds of not seeing each other, you have improved so much."
The mashup performance of the two contestants received a total score of 190.6 (3 live judges and 21 online judges), a very high score, going straight to the next round.

Phuong My Chi: "Sing like a general"
Mashup of "Drunken Sound" and "Luc Hai Vi Vuong" arranged by DTAP. To have the best performance, Kha Lau had previously come to Vietnam to work with Phuong My Chi and the crew.
Chi went to the airport to pick up Kha Lau, took her to experience Vietnamese culture, watch water puppetry, eat vermicelli with fermented shrimp paste, shrimp and pork spring rolls, bread...
Both wore Ao Ba Ba, Conical Hats and Ao Dai. The Chinese contestant said that thanks to the guidance of her new friend, she understood more about Vietnamese culture. The artist compared "we are twin sisters in Ao Dai".
Kha Lau commented that Phuong My Chi is a good friend, warm, sincere and a very enthusiastic Vietnamese person.
When DTAP gave Kha Lau the mashup, he was shocked because he was afraid he couldn't sing well. However, Chi kept encouraging him "you can do it", she even wrote down the Chinese transcription so Kha Lau could sing it correctly.
After the explosive stage performance, Kha Lau shared that Phuong My Chi and the crew contributed a lot to this performance.

Kha Lau said that from the beginning when Phuong My Chi stepped onto the Sing ! Asia stage , she was attracted to the Vietnamese artist because of her stage presence, vocal ability and creativity.
"I really want to be friends with her. From round 1 and round 2, I wrote Phuong My Chi's name without hesitation even though she didn't choose me in the first round. But thanks to my "shamelessness" and perseverance, now we are a team," Kha Lau humorously said.
The Chinese artist admits that she is someone who doesn't have many friends, so "this friendship is something I will never forget."
