Nam Nha Trang Ward: 1,652 people in high-risk areas have returned to safe shelters.

On the afternoon of November 19, the People's Committee of Nam Nha Trang Ward coordinated with functional forces to mobilize, persuade and force the remaining residents of Vinh Xuan Residential Group to take shelter. This is one of the areas that was flooded nearly 2 meters deep.

To achieve the goal of evacuating all residents of the deeply flooded areas in Vinh Xuan residential area by noon on November 19, the Ward People's Committee organized mobilization and support for evacuation. However, by early afternoon on November 19, many residents still refused to evacuate due to fear of losing their property. In the face of the very unusual flood situation, the flooded areas showed no signs of receding, to ensure the safety of people's lives, the Chairman of the Ward People's Committee decided to direct forced evacuation, at the same time, continue to mobilize and persuade residents to voluntarily evacuate. Thanks to that, the remaining 26 residents in the deeply flooded, high-risk and very high-risk areas of Vinh Xuan residential area were evacuated to a safe place. The total number of displaced residents of Vinh Xuan residential area is 61 households with 151 people.

Although Thanh Phat and Thanh Dat residential areas were not flooded, they were at high risk of landslides if heavy rain continued, so the ward also directed evacuation and all residents voluntarily complied. Accordingly, Thanh Phat residential area has 229 households with 745 people who have gone down the mountain to take shelter at relatives' houses or shelters; in Thanh Phat residential area's Cultural House alone, there are 54 households with 180 people. 145 households with 494 people of Thanh Dat residential area have also been evacuated to a safe place.

By 6 p.m. on November 19, the People's Committee of Nam Nha Trang Ward had evacuated all residents in deeply flooded, isolated areas with high risk of landslides in 14 residential areas in the area to safe places. The number of evacuated residents was 524 households with 1,652 people.

Along with the evacuation, the Ward People's Committee directed strict implementation of 24/24-hour blockades in high-risk areas to prevent people from returning home when the risk of insecurity has not passed and to handle emergency situations if the flood level continues to increase. Food, drinking water, blankets, and mats for people at shelters and on-duty forces were also fully provided. Medical forces were also directed to be ready to support when needed...
