Phu Sa Phin Peak is located in the Ta Xua range, Hanh Phuc commune, at an altitude of 2,868 m. Similarly, Ngu Chi Son mountain peak, over 2,800 m high, located on the border between Sa Pa commune (Lao Cai) and Binh Lu commune ( Lai Chau ) also had frost from the morning and continued until the afternoon when the temperature dropped. However, the ice density was not as thick as in Phu Sa Phin.
Today, the North entered the second day of being affected by the strongest cold air wave since the beginning of the season. 15 provinces and cities recorded the lowest temperature below 15 degrees Celsius, of which Mau Son (Lang Son) was over 3 degrees. Many high mountain points such as Pha Dinh ( Dien Bien ), Sa Pa (Lao Cai), Dong Van (Tuyen Quang), Tam Dao (Phu Tho) were 6-8 degrees Celsius.
In Hanoi, all 5 measuring stations are below 15 degrees Celsius, in which Ba Vi, Lang, Hoai Duc, Ha Dong are around 13 degrees, Son Tay is over 14 degrees.
According to the National Center for Hydro-Meteorological Forecasting, this afternoon cold air has spread to most of the South Central region. It is forecasted that tonight and tomorrow the North and North Central regions will be cold, the mountainous and midland areas will be very cold, some places will be very cold (average temperature during the day is from 15 and 13 degrees or lower). Quang Tri and Hue will be cold at night and in the morning.

The lowest temperature during this period in the Northern Delta and North Central region is commonly 11-14 degrees Celsius, in mountainous areas 9-12 degrees Celsius, in high mountainous areas below 5 degrees Celsius; Quang Tri - Hue 16-19 degrees Celsius.
Accuweather (USA) forecast shows that from tomorrow, Hanoi will gradually warm up, the temperature will increase by about 6 degrees, ranging from 16-22 degrees Celsius; around 15-26 degrees on the weekend. Sa Pa will also gradually increase from tomorrow, reaching 7-16 degrees Celsius by Sunday.
The meteorological agency warns that severe cold can greatly affect livestock, poultry and crop growth; heavy rain can easily cause flooding in low-lying areas, flash floods on small rivers and streams, landslides in steep areas and localized flooding in urban areas and industrial zones.
