On November 18, at the 15th anniversary of the Clinical Nutrition Center and the Nutrition Scientific Conference, Dr. Nghiem Nguyet Thu, Director of the Clinical Nutrition Center, Bach Mai Hospital, said that clinical nutrition is a treatment method that helps patients recover quickly.
At Bach Mai Hospital, the nutrition center staff is assigned to clinical units to proactively examine and provide nutritional treatment for patients, regularly visit the ward with the treating physician, and participate in hospital-wide consultations for difficult cases, contributing to the success of treatment.
"Pathological nutrition regimens - hospital diets are built on evidence and recommendations of clinical nutrition professional associations.
The center coordinates with clinical units in the hospital to research diets for common internal diseases such as people with severe hypertriglyceridemia, diets for organ transplant patients, and diets for diabetic patients.
"The control of providing nutritional regimens for diseases is of special concern to ensure technical requirements for nutritional treatment and safety," said Dr. Thu.

Dr. Thu said that Bach Mai Hospital is also the first and leading place in providing diets for patients with swallowing disorders.
The Center currently manages about 8,500 meals per day for inpatients, meeting about 80% of the demand. The diets are designed by doctors and nutritionists according to specific diseases, then prepared in the hospital kitchen.
All nutritional meals are calculated and measured according to recommendations. In addition, the center checks the origin and quality of food from suppliers, canteens, convenience stores and charity meals. The center is also a logistics hub, ensuring food supply for other hospital activities.
According to this expert, taking care of patients with a balanced and reasonable diet will help patients, especially children, the elderly and the seriously ill, recover quickly and shorten the treatment time. For non-communicable diseases such as cardiovascular disease, high blood pressure or diabetes, moderation and reasonable nutrition play a particularly important role.
