Medical staff braved the cold and rainy night to help a pregnant woman give birth safely.

SKĐS - Early in the morning, in cold and rainy weather, the staff of Cam Thach Commune Health Station promptly assisted a woman in labor, ensuring the safety of both mother and baby.

On the afternoon of November 19, Mr. Tran Huu Loc - Head of Cam Thach Medical Station (Cam Due Commune, Ha Tinh) said that at around 4:00 a.m. the same day, he received a call for urgent support from the family of Ms. Duong Thi Vy (born in 1991, residing in Xuan Lau Village). When he arrived, Ms. Vy had given birth to a baby girl right in her yard.

Ms. Vy and her child are safe after receiving support from medical staff .

Mr. Loc quickly clamped and cut the baby’s umbilical cord, and called the medical station’s on-duty staff for assistance. About 10 minutes later, Ms. Nguyen Thi Hue – the main on-duty staff of the station – arrived to use medicine to help deliver the placenta and care for the newborn according to the correct procedure.

The baby girl weighs 2.7 kg, is in stable health, and breastfeeds well. The mother is also being monitored and is stable after giving birth.

Mr. Tran Huu Loc and Ms. Nguyen Thi Hue provided timely support when Ms. Vy gave birth at night.

Ms. Vy's family expressed their emotion and deep gratitude for the dedication and responsibility of the Cam Thach Medical Station team, especially Mr. Tran Huu Loc and Ms. Nguyen Thi Hue.

It is known that Ms. Vy is a single mother, from a poor household. According to her pregnancy records, her expected date of birth was December 9, however, she went into labor nearly 3 weeks early.
