Russian military airstrikes, Ukraine air defense system explodes

Between May 26 and May 31, Russian sources shared numerous videos and images documenting drone attacks on the Soviet-made 9K33 Osa short-range air defense system, the P-18 long-range air surveillance VHF radar, the 35D6 long-range air defense system, and the Buk-M1 medium-range air defense system.

The Osa system was hidden in a greenhouse, while the P-18, 35D6 and Buk-M1 were protected by special nets. However, despite these protective measures, all four systems were detected and attacked by Russia.

The Lancet drone was developed by ZALA Aero Group, a subsidiary of the Kalashnikov giant. The company has produced two versions: the Izdeliye-52, which has an endurance of 30 minutes and carries a 1 kg warhead, and the larger version, the Izdeliye-51, which has an endurance of 40 minutes and is equipped with a 3 kg warhead.

Both versions are equipped with a GLONASS-supported inertial navigation system, a laser rangefinder and an electro-optical system to detect, track and lock on static and moving targets.

The drone's small radar cross-section and minimal infrared signature make it suitable for suppressing enemy air defenses.

The Russian military has destroyed 25 radars, communication systems and 32 air defense systems of Kiev forces with Lancet drones, since the start of Russia's special military operation in Ukraine, according to information published by Lostarmour.info, a website that tracks and records military losses.

The Russian military is stepping up operations to destroy Ukrainian weapons depots.

Earlier, on May 29, the AVP news site reported that the Russian Ministry of Defense announced that five weapons depots of the Ukrainian Armed Forces and mercenaries had been destroyed. This was another successful operation by the Russian military.

Depots of weapons and ammunition of the Armed Forces of Ukraine and mercenaries were completely destroyed. According to the Russian Defense Ministry, such actions significantly weaken the enemy's combat capabilities and create additional difficulties for further actions.

Recently, Russia has stepped up the destruction of weapons depots of the Ukrainian Armed Forces, thereby preventing the enemy from using weapons supplied by the West.
