President Luong Cuong's visit to Peru reflects the positive development of Vietnam-Peru bilateral relations from politics -diplomacy to economy-trade.
At the invitation of President of the Republic of Peru Dina Ercilia Boluarte Zegarra, President of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam Luong Cuong led a high-ranking Vietnamese delegation to pay an official visit to the Republic of Peru and attend the 2024 Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) Summit Week in Lima, Peru from November 12-16, 2024.
This is the first official visit by a senior Vietnamese leader to Peru, taking place on the occasion of the two countries celebrating the 30th anniversary of establishing diplomatic relations (November 14, 1994 - November 14, 2024).
The visit reflects the positive development of Vietnam-Peru bilateral relations from politics-diplomacy to economy-trade, and is also a historic opportunity and a driving force to further deepen the friendship and cooperation between the two countries.
Peru is currently Vietnam's 6th largest trading partner and the place with the largest direct investment of Vietnamese enterprises in Latin America.
Vietnam currently has two important investment projects in Peru in the fields of telecommunications (Military Telecommunications Group/Viettel) and oil and gas (Vietnam National Oil and Gas Group/PVN) with a capital of more than 1 billion USD./.
