Ngo Quyen District: Actively propagate and educate all classes of people to strictly implement the Law on Military Service.

(Haiphong.gov.vn) - On the afternoon of April 26, Ngo Quyen District held a conference to summarize the work of selecting and calling citizens to join the army and participate in public security service in 2024. Attending the conference were: Colonel Vuong Van Yen, Deputy Commander of the City Military Command; Trinh Quang Truong, Permanent Deputy Secretary of the District Party Committee, Chairman of the District People's Council; Cap Trong Tuan, Chairman of the District People's Committee.

In 2024, although the military recruitment work of Ngo Quyen district still faces many difficulties, with the high determination and synchronous and active participation of the sectors, levels, and People's Committees of 12 wards, the quality of the military recruitment work in 2024 of the district is maintained and 100% of the assigned targets are completed, safely, and in accordance with the Law. Implementing the direction of the City Military Command, the District Party Committee, People's Council, and People's Committee, the Ngo Quyen District Military Command proactively develops and implements plans, completing 100% of the recruitment targets and calling citizens to join the army; handing over a sufficient number of 135 young men to join the army and perform police duties to the receiving unit to ensure quality and absolute safety in all aspects. The People's Committees of districts and wards, together with the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee and socio -political organizations at all levels, shall do a good job of propagating and educating the Law on Military Service, implementing well the military rear policy, giving gifts to families of citizens joining the army in difficult circumstances and citizens joining the army.

At the Conference, delegates also pointed out some shortcomings and limitations that need to be overcome, such as: Military Service Councils of some wards and agencies and units have not fully promoted their roles and responsibilities in the selection of citizens for military service; the quality of preliminary selection and health examination is not high; the grasp of the ideological situation and actual circumstances of some citizens who have undergone health examinations and are eligible for military service is not specific and inaccurate, so the issuance of military service orders is difficult; along with that, the measures to handle citizens who violate the Law on Military Service are not timely, lack consistency and are not resolute...

To prepare for the selection and call-up of citizens for military service in 2025, the Military Service Council of Ngo Quyen District has developed a specific plan. The District People's Committee directs wards, agencies, enterprises, schools, and socio-political organizations in the area to seriously and strictly implement the registration and management of citizens of military service age according to the Law; actively propagate so that young men of military service age are clearly aware of their responsibilities, obligations, and regulations of the Law on Military Service, and enthusiastically register to participate. In particular, pay attention to caring for, encouraging, and visiting families with children in the army, and do a good job in the military's rear policy. Warmly welcome and create favorable conditions for citizens who have been discharged from the army and return to their localities to learn a trade and have stable jobs./.
