According to the South China Morning Post, a coffee shop in Jiangdu city, Sichuan province (China) has suddenly become famous thanks to a new drink: Coffee mixed with cooked pig intestines.
This unique coffee is made from coffee and milk, combined with boiled pig intestines and small intestines. The price of this drink is 32 yuan (about 116,000 VND) for a cup. The drink has three levels of flavor: light, medium and strong. The higher the level, the stronger the smell of pig intestines.
Talking about the reason for creating this new drink, Mr. Zhang Yuchi - the owner - shared: "Braised pork intestines are a favorite dish in Giang Du. I thought of combining pork intestines with coffee to promote the shop as well as the city's specialty."

The owner said he bought cooked pig intestines from a famous restaurant in the city, then mixed the intestine juice into the coffee.
"We put exactly 6 grams of intestine broth into each cup of coffee. That number was carefully calculated after many tests. The goal is to let customers feel the special flavor of pig intestines, but not lose the taste of coffee. We hope most people will find it acceptable," he said.
According to him, this dish has a sweet and salty taste mixed together, like "salty cheese".

The coffee quickly gained traction on Chinese social media. Since the coffee went viral in early June, the shop’s sales have quadrupled, with 80% of customers coming to try the “one-of-a-kind” drink.
Sharing with the media, a female customer said: "I am a coffee lover. Seeing someone recommend this pig intestine coffee, I decided to try it."
Another customer said the drink was “okay”. “A lot of people don’t eat pig intestines, but I think they can still accept this kind of coffee,” she said.
One social media account left a comment: "Not a bad idea, I want to try it."

However, many people object to the combination in this drink: "It's ridiculous. I like coffee and I also eat pig intestines, but not combining the two."
In China, “creative coffee” dishes often become a hot topic. In Jiangxi Province (China), there was a shop that made netizens curious when it added fried chili and spicy chili powder to its coffee. Another shop in Yunnan (China) also caused a stir when it mixed coffee with… fried worms.
