According to a survey, Sam Son city currently has no road with a speed limit of 30km/h. Therefore, 4-wheel electric vehicles are forced to stop carrying passengers.
The leader of the People's Committee of Sam Son city said that before making this decision, the locality had studied the plan to separate lanes for electric vehicles and limit the maximum speed to 30km/h.
However, this option is not feasible because most of the roads are very narrow. Putting up speed reduction signs on main roads to allow electric vehicles to operate is considered to cause traffic congestion, negatively affecting socio-economic development and local tourism activities.
Faced with the above situation, the People's Committee of Sam Son City has compiled opinions from transport businesses and driver representatives, and sent them to competent authorities for consideration and to find appropriate solutions in the coming time.
