Hop Thanh commune currently has 92.4% of the population being ethnic minorities, so it has a diverse and rich cultural heritage. To preserve and promote this precious asset, the Party Committee of Hop Thanh commune has identified cultural preservation as one of the key tasks.

Vice Chairman of Hop Thanh Commune People's Committee - Nguyen Trong Doan said: On the basis of implementing the Resolution of the 1st Congress of Hop Thanh Commune Party Committee, term 2025 - 2030, we have issued Project No. 03 on preserving and promoting the cultural identity of ethnic groups. The training session on preserving the Cap sac ceremony of the Red Dao people aims to preserve and promote the cultural identity of ethnic groups, improve the cultural life of the people and develop tourism .

With the coordination of the Department of Cultural Heritage (Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism) and the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism of the province, Hop Thanh commune invited cultural research experts to directly train 50 trainees who are secretaries, village chiefs, prestigious people, shamans, sorcerers, and local Red Dao folk artists with deep understanding of the ritual.

The goal after the training is that the trainees will become "teachers" who continue to guide and teach the younger generation about the Cap Sac ceremony, folk songs, folk dances, tangible and intangible culture and spiritual culture.

The Cap Sac ceremony has long transcended the meaning of a spiritual activity, becoming the most important moral and educational rule in the spiritual life of the Red Dao people. This is a ceremony that marks the maturity, recognition of the position and responsibility of Red Dao men in the community.

Mr. Chao Lao Su - a prestigious person with deep understanding of Red Dao culture in Phin Ho village, Hop Thanh commune said: According to tradition, Red Dao people must receive the ordination ceremony three times in each generation. More important than the ritual is the educational content that the ordination ceremony brings, to educate children to obey their parents and comply with the provisions of the law...

In addition to training, I hope that the Cap Sac ceremony will be taught in schools in places with a large Dao ethnic group - this will be a fundamental solution to preserve sustainable identity.

Vice Chairman of Hop Thanh Commune People's Committee - Nguyen Trong Doan added: "The goal of Project 03 is to contribute to preserving and honoring heritage, so that people feel proud, preserve and maintain it in daily life and spiritual activities. From here, attract investors and tourists to Hop Thanh to develop eco-tourism, experiential tourism, spiritual tourism, cultural tourism. The ultimate goal is to improve the material and spiritual life of the people".

Despite its special significance, the Cap Sac ceremony is an expensive ceremony that requires elaborate preparation, and not every family has the conditions to organize it. Therefore, the Hop Thanh commune government's organization of training and upcoming support for the organization of a collective Cap Sac ceremony has brought a different value, receiving high response from the community.

It is known that from November 23 to 26, 2025, Hop Thanh commune organized the Cap sac ceremony for 47 couples.

With these methods, the Cap sac ceremony in Hop Thanh commune will not only be a spiritual ritual but also a community festival, opening a new direction in preserving and promoting heritage by the nation's own children, making traditional culture an important driving force for the development of the homeland.
