The most prominent is the discovery of Son Doong -
the world's largest cave, which is of great significance in cave exploration research in the region, contributing greatly to promoting the image of Phong Nha-Ke Bang National Park, Quang Binh and Vietnam tourism around the world. The greatest and most persistent contribution to the exploration, survey, research and publication of information about caves in Quang Binh is expert Howard Limbert and his colleagues at the British Royal Caves Association. Over the past 20 years, they have accompanied and been attached to the World Natural Heritage Phong Nha-Ke Bang National Park and certainly their journey of cave exploration and discovery has not stopped, because 70% of the area of this National Park has not been explored. According to the Management Board of Phong Nha-Ke Bang National Park, the charm of the cave here has created an attraction, attracting many film crews, television stations, domestic and international newspapers to report news, images and choose the setting to shoot "blockbuster" movies. Recently, CNN (USA) ranked Son Doong Cave in the list of "10 best destinations in 2020" and on April 14, 2022, Google Doodle honored Son Doong Cave on Google search of more than 18 countries around the world.
