The ATP Shot is a special shot in pickleball where the ball is hit in a trajectory that goes around the net post instead of over the top of the net as usual. This shot is used when an opponent hits a line shot that sends the ball out of bounds but is still legal.

The men's singles quarter-final match of the Veolia Houston Open 2024 was dramatic with an 11-5; 11-9 victory for Quang Duong. The Vietnamese-born tennis player had an emotional match, typically scoring a point with an ATP shot in the second set that surprised both his opponent and the audience on the field.

Leading his opponent 9-7, Quang Duong received Ben Johns' serve and then went to the kitchen area to defend. The American player immediately made a cross-court shot that seemed to end the game. However, with his agility, Quang Duong quickly caught up with the ball and made a shot over the net to defeat his opponent.

The situation happened so quickly that Ben Johns had no time to react. The audience on the field immediately gave a round of applause for the Vietnamese-born player's classy play.

On pickleball forums in Vietnam, many Quang Duong fans unexpectedly reposted the above video and praised the 19-year-old player's fierce competitive spirit.

Quang Duong has just returned to No. 6 in the world in men's singles on the PPA Tour rankings.
