Building school on the mountain
On the afternoon of August 31, Mr. Phung's school, belonging to the Tra Don Ethnic Boarding School, Nam Tra My District, Quang Nam Province, worth nearly 1.3 billion VND, was officially inaugurated and put into use.
This is a project by the sponsors of the "Friends Club" in Da Nang City, calling for cooperation and connection from all regions to support students in the highlands.
Mr. Nguyen Binh Nam - Head of "Friends Club" - said that the group has maintained volunteer activities towards education in mountainous areas for the past 13 years, with annual activities such as "Going to school in the mountains" currently supporting 360 mountainous students, 500 thousand VND/child/month, "Mountain meals". Especially the program "Building schools in the mountains", has built 18 schools in Quang Tri, Quang Nam, Quang Ngai...
“We hope our activities will contribute to motivating teachers on their extremely meaningful journey, which is to sow knowledge in remote and mountainous areas,” said Mr. Binh Nam.
A few days earlier, the Ma Cooih Primary School project (Ma Cooih commune, Dong Giang district), consisting of 2 spacious floors, with a total investment of more than 10.6 billion VND from the State budget, was also completed and put into use in time for the new school year 2024 - 2025, solving the shortage of classrooms and subject rooms for many years.
Mr. Nguyen Van Le - Head of the Department of Education and Training of Dong Giang district - said that not only Ma Cooih Primary School, many schools in the area have been repaired in many areas to ensure safe and convenient teaching conditions, achieving the goal of maintaining and improving schools to meet standards.
Untangling overdue schools
After 2 years of delay, because the contractor was entangled in legal trouble, at the beginning of the 2024-2025 school year, the Phan Chau Trinh Secondary School project, in Binh An commune, Thang Binh district, Quang Nam, worth more than 4 billion VND, was officially put into use, in the joy and excitement of teachers, students and parents.
Mr. Vo Van Le - Principal of Phan Chau Trinh Secondary School - said that the project includes 10 classrooms and functional rooms, meeting the needs of more than 730 students.
“According to the plan, in 2023, the school was re-accredited to meet national standards level 2 after 5 years, but due to the slow progress of the construction project, the school missed the opportunity to be re-accredited. Now with the new, spacious facilities, teachers and students of the school are very excited to enter the new school year,” said Mr. Vo Van Le.
Similarly, the contractor for the construction project of Que Son High School (Que Son district), worth nearly 60 billion VND, is also rushing to complete the final items before the opening ceremony.
The investment scale of Que Son High School includes: 3-storey classroom block (20 classrooms), 3-storey head office block, 3-storey subject block and library, along with auxiliary items, which will meet the learning needs of nearly 1,000 students, helping the school meet national standards.
In preparation for the new school year 2024 - 2025, Quang Nam province has approved an investment of nearly 55 billion VND to repair 41 high schools in 2024. At the same time, 20 billion VND was allocated to purchase teaching equipment for high schools.
