According to the approved project, Chu Lai urban area (Tam Hiep commune, Nui Thanh) has an area of over 329 hectares with the nature of an urban area with criteria equivalent to a type II urban area.
The population target of area I (urban development area southwest of Vo Chi Cong street) is about 27.5 thousand people; area II (urban development area northeast of Vo Chi Cong street) is about 20.5 thousand people, reserved and effective after adjusting the General Planning project for construction of Chu Lai Open Economic Zone.
Chu Lai urban area is an urban area oriented to build mixed-use urban areas, high-end riverside villas, diversify mixed-use service areas and green space systems, and at the same time build and renovate the current area with the goal of improving environmental quality, preserving landscape space and creating highlights for the urban area.
Existing residential areas are organized and rearranged according to the new urban structure, converting existing industries into urban services. Residential areas are organized in a consistent urban space, aiming to create sustainable development in the future.
