According to the approved decision, the Chu Lai urban area (Tam Hiep commune, Nui Thanh district) covers an area of over 329 hectares and is classified as an urban area with indicators equivalent to a type II urban area.

The population target in Zone I (urban development area southwest of Vo Chi Cong road) according to the plan is approximately 27,500 people; in Zone II (urban development area northeast of Vo Chi Cong road) is approximately 20,500 people, which are reserved and will take effect after the adjustment of the General Planning Project for the Chu Lai Open Economic Zone.

The Chu Lai urban area is oriented towards the construction of mixed-use urban areas, high-end riverside villas, diversified mixed-use service areas and green spaces; while simultaneously building and renovating existing areas to improve environmental quality, preserve landscape spaces and create focal points for the urban area.

Existing residential areas are reorganized and restructured according to a new urban structure, transforming existing industries into urban services. Residential areas are organized within a consistent urban space to ensure sustainable future development. Strict management of architectural planning indicators contributes to creating a unified urban whole.
