Quang Nam pilots model of driving test and exam monitoring equipment

Model 17 "Driving test and examination monitoring equipment" was piloted at the Driving Test Center of Phuc Hoang Ngan Company Limited (located in Tam Dan commune, Phu Ninh).

This is one of 43 models implementing tasks in Project 06 of the Government , with the goal of using and integrating readers and mobile devices to control and accurately identify test takers, preventing test takers from cheating when taking the driving test.

The Department of Transport has piloted model 17 in the car driving test for candidates of courses 52/24B1 (4901024B11012), 53/24B1 (4901024B11013), 63/24B2 (49010K24B2011), 28/24C (49010K24C003) and candidates who retake the test due to absence or failure at the test sessions of Phu Ninh Driving Vocational Education Center; candidates of courses K12 (4900124B11003), K281B2 (49001K24B2003) and candidates who retake the test due to absence or failure at the test sessions of Quang Nam College; candidates who retake the test to reissue a driver's license (due to an expired driver's license).

Mr. Le Quang Hieu - Deputy Director of the Department of Transport informed that in order to effectively implement driver training and testing, especially to improve the effectiveness of monitoring theoretical and testing activities, the unit coordinated with Viettel Quang Nam to pilot the model of "Driver testing and testing monitoring equipment" to serve the monitoring and identification of candidates participating in car driving tests organized by the unit.

Implementing the plan under the direction of the Provincial People's Committee, the Department of Transport has coordinated with agencies including the Department of Information and Communications, the Provincial Police and the software support unit, Viettel Quang Nam. By September 2024, Viettel Quang Nam's software basically meets the requirements for piloting model 17.

“In 2024, the Department of Transport organized 91 examinations, and so far no cases of cheating or proxy testing have been detected. However, the examination organization process takes a lot of time to check with the naked eye. When applying this model, the examination council will accurately identify the candidates and deploy the contents of the exam from the theory test, simulation, driving test and road driving, convenient for both examiners and candidates.

After the pilot period, the Quang Nam Department of Transport will expand the application of this technology in driver training and testing activities in the province. At the same time, it will deploy synchronous solutions to develop VNeID and apply digital citizen data on the principle of unification and data connection towards convenience for people and businesses," Mr. Hieu shared.

According to the driving test session on the morning of October 19 at the Driving Test Center of Phuc Hoang Ngan Company Limited, the initial implementation of the model showed quite good results.

Monitoring and identification through monitoring devices does not take much time, ensuring control and accurate identification of test takers, avoiding test takers cheating during driving tests.

Candidates taking the exam do not spend too much time checking before each exam content, contributing to creating a comfortable mindset for candidates taking the exam.

The driving test organized by the Driving Test Center of Phuc Hoang Ngan Company Limited on October 19 had a total of 374 candidates, including 126 candidates taking the B1 test, 192 candidates taking the B2 test and 56 candidates taking the C test.
