Quang Nam promotes trade and tourism in Laos

From May 23 to 25, at the Trade Center of Sekong province (Laos), a delegation of the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism, the Department of Finance and the Department of Industry and Trade of Quang Nam province attended the Forum on trade, investment and tourism promotion to boost the development of the East-West Economic Corridor and the Vietnam - Laos, Laos - Vietnam Trade, Investment and Tourism Fair 2025.

The event is part of the 2025 economic diplomacy program and the implementation of the results of the 47th Meeting of the Vietnam - Laos Intergovernmental Cooperation Committee.

At the Forum on Trade, Investment and Tourism Promotion to Boost the Development of the East-West Economic Corridor held on the morning of May 23, more than 400 delegates from ministries, sectors, localities, embassies, trade and tourism promotion agencies, press agencies, and businesses from Vietnam, Laos and Thailand shared information about potential, strengths, and investment attraction policies.

Delegates also focused on exchanging orientations and solutions to improve the effectiveness of cooperation in the fields of trade, tourism and investment on the East-West Economic Corridor.

Along with the forum, the Vietnam - Laos and Laos - Vietnam Trade, Investment and Tourism Fair also attracted many businesses from the three countries of Vietnam, Laos and Thailand to participate.

Enterprises display and introduce local industries and products such as agricultural products, processed foods, garments, fashion, electricity - electronics - household appliances, industrial machinery and equipment, agricultural products, wooden furniture, handicrafts, consumer goods and tourism services.

Participating in the fair, the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism and the Department of Industry and Trade of Quang Nam organized a joint booth of ^24m2 to display publications and souvenirs; screen films introducing information and images of prominent destinations, products and typical services of Quang Nam.

In addition, the booth also displays and introduces outstanding OCOP products of Quang Nam such as Ngoc Linh ginseng, fish sauce, agarwood, pepper, coconut cake, bird's nest...

According to the leader of the Department of Industry and Trade, through the forum and fair, the connection between the two economies of Vietnam and Laos will be strengthened; information will be updated on the potential, strengths, and preferential policies to attract investment in each country; bilateral cooperation activities will be encouraged; the investment and business environment will be improved, creating favorable conditions for enterprises, etc.

In particular, it will contribute to connecting and promoting the image, investment, trade and tourism environment of Quang Nam province to large, leading companies and investment promotion organizations in Laos in general and the 4 southern Lao provinces in particular. It will create conditions to attract investment, trade and tourism projects to Quang Nam; create opportunities for Quang Nam enterprises to expand their markets to the 4 southern Lao provinces and vice versa.
