Kinhtedothi- Regarding the project to rearrange commune-level administrative units, Secretary of the Quang Ngai Provincial Party Committee Bui Thi Quynh Van agreed that the rearrangement and merger will reduce the number of communes by at least 70%.


On March 18, Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Head of the Steering Committee of the Quang Ngai Provincial Party Committee on summarizing the implementation of Resolution No. 18-NQ/TW Bui Thi Quynh Van chaired the 5th meeting.

Reporting at the meeting, the Steering Committee's Working Group said that there are currently 4 tasks being implemented, including: reviewing and rearranging the internal organization of agencies and units; rearranging mass organizations assigned by the Party and State; rearranging district and commune-level administrative units for the 2026-2031 period and merging the province's press agencies.

At the meeting, members of the Steering Committee said that it is necessary to pay attention to the specificity of spatial development planning and cultural characteristics when reorganizing commune-level administrative units. Localities and units continue to review and reorganize staff, giving priority to selecting staff who meet the requirements for performing tasks during the reorganization process,...

Concluding the meeting, Provincial Party Secretary Bui Thi Quynh Van requested to urgently complete the projects according to the set schedule. All reorganization and merger projects must be submitted to the Provincial Party Standing Committee before April 10.

Regarding the Project on reorganizing commune-level administrative units, Ms. Bui Thi Quynh Van agreed to reorganize and merge to reduce the number of communes by at least 70%. However, in reorganizing administrative units, it is necessary to ensure development space and specific factors such as the Sa Huynh relic site; Ba To Safe Zone area, localities in Dung Quat Economic Zone and industrial zones; ethnic minority areas, and cultural areas with specific characteristics...

Along with that, it is necessary to build staffing targets for the commune level after the merger. In particular, it is necessary to pay attention to the structure of the staff to meet new development requirements, especially in the fields of finance, public investment and land management.

The Head of the Steering Committee proposed that the Provincial Party Committee direct the establishment of a Working Group to assist the Steering Committee of the Provincial People's Committee to proactively develop a project to rearrange commune-level administrative units and end district-level activities after receiving the official policy of the Central Government.
