Quang Ninh has 1 outstanding Vietnamese Farmer and 1 nationally outstanding cooperative honored.

Last night, October 14, in Hanoi, the Central Committee of the Vietnam Farmers' Union coordinated with ministries and branches to organize a ceremony to honor and award the title of Outstanding Vietnamese Farmer, praising 63 outstanding cooperatives nationwide in 2024. Quang Ninh was honored to have 1 farmer and 1 cooperative honored.

Passionate about traditional medicine, Mr. Nguyen Van Manh has worked hard to create a distillation line, promoting the value of traditional medicinal herbs.

Quang Ninh farmer who won the title of Outstanding Vietnamese Farmer 2024 is Mr. Nguyen Van Manh, Bach Dang I area, Phuong Nam ward (Uong Bi city). With the desire to expand, promote and continue traditional medicine recipes, in 2014, Mr. Nguyen Van Manh established Nam Duoc Y Vo Company Limited. This was also the time when the Quang Ninh OCOP program was deployed, so when he was encouraged, supported and helped by the Farmers' Association at all levels, he developed traditional medicine recipes into local OCOP products. Currently, Mr. Manh's company has 6 products participating in the OCOP program, of which 4 OCOP products have achieved 3-4 stars, distributed in many provinces and cities across the country. Typical examples include: Thien Dong extract, An Than Lac Tien extract, Liver detox tea, Fo-ti honey pills... The company is also creating jobs for 12 local workers and cooperating with nearly 50 households.

Mr. Nguyen Van Manh is also an exemplary farmer member, always enthusiastic and responsible in participating in the activities of the Farmers' Association, regularly supporting and helping farmers develop their economy together, actively participating in local campaigns, supporting various funds, helping households in difficult circumstances, contributing to the socio-economic development of the locality.

Phat Co Aquaculture Cooperative (Van Don District) is a cooperative honored as a typical national cooperative in 2024. The cooperative currently has 30 members, a production scale of 15 hectares with the main production industry being aquaculture and exploitation of aquatic products. Revenue reaches 28-32 billion VND/year. Currently, the cooperative is creating regular jobs for 84 workers and implementing production linkages with aquaculture households inside and outside the cooperative to consume products and goods domestically and export to the markets of Taiwan and China.

During its operation, the Cooperative has always thoroughly implemented environmental protection work, converted styrofoam buoys to HDPE standard buoys to ensure technical standards in accordance with the province's policies and instructions; focused on disease prevention for farmed species; regularly provided technical guidance to aquaculture households in the area for sustainable development.
