In recent years, Quang Ninh has continued to make breakthroughs in focusing and prioritizing resources for the overall program of sustainable socio -economic development associated with firmly ensuring national defense and security in communes, villages, and hamlets in ethnic minority, mountainous, border, and island areas.
From 2021 to present, Quang Ninh has prioritized allocating over VND 3,400 billion in provincial budget investment capital to directly support the implementation of the Program, along with thousands of billions of VND in integrated capital, career capital and overall mobilization of other resources.
Mr. Luc Thanh Chung - Head of the Ethnic Minorities Committee of Quang Ninh province said: Closely following the guidelines and policies of the Central Government to promote the development of ethnic minority areas, Party committees and authorities at all levels in the province always strive to innovate and be creative in leadership, direction and implementation; promote all resources, exploit potentials and advantages to sustainably develop the socio-economy of ethnic minority and mountainous areas.
Up to now, the province has completed 13 dynamic transport projects connecting ethnic minority, mountainous, border and island areas using program funds. The province has completed support for the elimination of temporary and dilapidated houses for 441 households with a total implementation cost from socialized sources of 32.96 billion VND, of which support for 66 households in the elimination of temporary and dilapidated houses in ethnic minority, mountainous, border and island areas has been completed.
From 2023 to present, the province has repaired and supplemented facilities for 166 construction projects and schools, with a total cost of nearly 1,400 billion VND. Of which, 5 schools in ethnic minority and mountainous areas have been upgraded with a total cost of more than 48 billion VND. The system of facilities, cultural and sports institutions in ethnic minority areas has received attention, investment and synchronous upgrading from all levels and sectors. 100% of ethnic minority villages and hamlets have cultural houses...
Many specific mechanisms and policies on health, education, culture, housing, employment, social policy credit, contributing to ensuring social security and welfare for ethnic minority and mountainous areas have been promptly implemented. Typically: Project to improve the human development index of Quang Ninh province in the period of 2020-2025; project to propagate and mobilize to improve nutrition and physical strength for children in mountainous, remote and ethnic minority areas in Quang Ninh province, period 2022-2025...
In particular, the Quang Ninh Provincial Party Committee issued Resolution No. 17 dated October 30, 2023 on building and promoting cultural values and human strength of Quang Ninh to become an endogenous resource and driving force for rapid and sustainable development. This is an important basis and foundation for effectively preserving and promoting the fine traditional cultural values of ethnic minorities, associated with the development of tourism in ethnic minority, mountainous, border and island areas.
Chairman of Quang Ninh Provincial People's Committee Cao Tuong Huy said that Quang Ninh's viewpoint does not stop at providing ethnic minorities with food, clothes, and education for their children, but also gradually creating an ethnic minority region with a sustainable economic development, imbued with national cultural identity and traditions; uniting, loving, supporting each other, and connecting with the ethnic minority community in the region to maintain national defense and security at the border, the nation, and the people.
