Floodwaters are pouring into a culvert in Huong Phung commune, Quang Tri province.
Quang Tri province has planned to evacuate more than 14,000 households with nearly 53,000 people in dangerous areas to safe places to cope with storm No. 6.
Currently, in Quang Tri province, there are more than 21 flooded, isolated and cut-off points. Heavy rains have caused landslides on roads such as Ho Chi Minh western branch, Huong Phung-Lao Bao patrol road, Provincial Road 571, and traffic has been completely cut off. Along with that, some roads in the mountainous areas of western Quang Tri are deeply flooded at the locations of culverts and spillways.
Ca Roong Border Guard Station said the road to Noong village was eroded, cutting off traffic.
Authorities have set up barricades and assigned guards to prohibit vehicles and people from entering and ensuring safety.

To proactively respond to storms and floods, the Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee requested departments, branches and units to continue implementing storm prevention and control plans, aiming to ensure the safety of people's lives and property.
Urgently call on ships to take shelter, ensure safety of anchorage areas; review and evacuate people in dangerous areas, weak houses, landslide areas, riverbanks, low-lying areas. At the same time, ensure the safety of irrigation works, dams, and on-site rescue plans; prepare forces and means for rescue, strictly implement the "four on-site" motto to respond to storms.

According to forecasts, by 7 p.m. on August 30, storm No. 6 will make landfall in Ha Tinh and northern Quang Tri, weakening into a tropical depression, with winds of level 7 and gusts of level 9. The storm is likely to cause strong winds, rising sea levels, thunderstorms and tornadoes on land, and rainfall of 100-200mm, with some places exceeding 250mm, causing localized flooding. Disaster risk level 3.
