The Kingdom of Kush dates back to 8000 BC, with pottery remains found near its capital city of Kerma. Located in the southern Nubia region of northeastern Africa, Kush was a “complex, highly stratified urban society based on extensive agriculture .” The Kushite kings built pyramids, building them across Sudan.
