Days after the ruling Cambodian People's Party (CPP) won a landslide victory in July's election, Hun Sen, one of the world's longest-serving leaders, announced he would step down as prime minister.
However, to officially become the new prime minister of Cambodia, Mr. Hun Manet and the new cabinet must pass a vote of confidence in the National Assembly scheduled to be held on August 22.
The royal decree states that the newly appointed prime minister is responsible for preparing the cabinet for a vote of confidence in parliament.
