The ASEAN Consonant is an ASEAN traditional music ensemble that aims to showcase the different cultural heritages of ASEAN countries and thereby build stronger friendship and cooperation.
Established in 2015 in Thailand, C asean Consonant has performed in many countries such as Malaysia, Singapore, China, Indonesia. In 2023, C asean Consonant will come to Hanoi to perform a performance called Friendship Across Borders. This project is considered a playground for the young generation to share, learn, develop and preserve traditional ASEAN music.
The organizers of the concert "Friendship across borders" made their debut to the public.
On the afternoon of October 13, 2023, the Organizing Committee of the concert held a press conference to introduce the program. Accordingly, the Cross-Border Friendship Concert will take place at the Vietnam National Academy of Music at 7:00 p.m. on October 15.
Built on the foundation of traditional musical instruments, the Cross-Border Friendship Concert with the participation of 10 artists from 10 Southeast Asian countries promises to bring the audience unique and profound musical experiences, while contributing to strengthening friendship and cooperation between countries in the region.

Accordingly, the concert will bring together artists from 10 countries: Brunei, Cambodia, Indonesia, Laos, Malaysia, Myanmar, Philippines, Singapore, Thailand and Vietnam. Artists from each country will perform a traditional musical instrument or sing songs that reflect the identity of their country.
In addition, during the concert, artists from 10 countries will perform the ASEAN song called The ASEAN Way. This is the official song of the Association of Southeast Asian Nations, composed in 2008.
The host country's representatives - Vietnam - will be monochord artist Ngo Tra My and artist Le Thuy Linh.
