On the morning of July 16th, the Provincial Museum held a ceremony to launch the open-air storage model for the Cham Royal Family's cultural heritage collection in Bac Binh. This is part of the project "Preserving and promoting the valuable traditional culture of ethnic minorities in conjunction with tourism development" under the National Target Program for socio -economic development in ethnic minority and mountainous areas for the period 2021-2025.
Attending the event were Mr. Vo Thanh Huy – Deputy Director of the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism of the province, representatives from the Provincial Museum, the Provincial Tourism Promotion Center, Phan Thanh commune (Bac Binh district), and a large number of local people and visitors from within and outside the locality.
The Champa Royal Cultural Heritage Collection, located approximately 30 meters north of National Highway 1A in Tinh My village, Phan Thanh commune, Bac Binh district, is the only remaining relatively complete collection of the Champa dynasty, preserved for over 400 years by the descendants of King Po Klong Mohnai.
This place displays over 100 original artifacts of great historical and cultural value to the Cham people, divided into 8 collection groups. Among them, the most valuable are the crown of King Po Klong Moh Nai from the early 17th century and the hair ornament of Queen Po Bia Som, both made of gold with exquisitely carved and unique patterns. Also on display are the costumes of the King, Queen, Prince, and Princess, including a robe with ancient patterns and a Makara (mythical creature) embroidered on the chest, which King Po Klong Moh Nai often wore during court sessions.
Associated with the Cham royal cultural heritage collection is the Po Klong Moh Nai Temple, located about 200m east of National Highway 1A in Luong Dong neighborhood, Luong Son town, Bac Binh district. It was classified as a National Historical and Artistic Monument by the Ministry of Culture and Information (now the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism) in 1993.
The open-air model of the Cham Royal Cultural Heritage Collection in Bac Binh district will be an interesting tourist attraction, meeting the needs of those who want to learn and research about the ancient culture of the Cham people in Binh Thuan.
