A snake fell from the sky and hit a woman who was cutting grass. Immediately after, a hawk appeared and swooped down on her.
Peggy Jones suffered an injury to her arm in the surprise attack.
Peggy Jones of Silsbee, Texas (USA) just had a terrifying experience right in her garden when she was attacked by two ferocious animals. While Peggy Jones was mowing the lawn in the garden, suddenly a snake fell from the sky and hit her.
The snake wrapped itself tightly around Peggy's arm. She tried to shake it off, but it tightened its grip. As she swung her arms to dislodge the snake, a hawk appeared.
It lunged forward, clawing at her arm to get the snake back. The snake was still wrapped tightly around her arm, and the hawk attacked more and more fiercely. She was so scared that she could only scream, "Help me! Help me!"
A moment later, the hawk pulled the snake out and flew away with its prey. Peggy's arm was scratched and bleeding.
Her husband rushed her to the hospital. Luckily, she did not suffer any serious injuries. She suffered bruises from the snake and cuts from the hawk's claws. "I feel like the luckiest person to have survived the accident," she said.
Bryan Hughes, owner of Rattlesnake Solutions, said it was likely the hawk had picked up the snake and dropped it in mid-flight. The snake clung to Peggy because it was injured and frightened.
According to Bryan Hughes, hawks usually catch snakes, but sometimes they are greedy for large prey. When flying, hawks can easily drop their prey, or even be strangled by the snake. He once saw a snake falling from the sky, just 6 meters away from where he was standing. At that time, he looked up and saw a hawk flying by.
