Mr. Dinh Van Thanh, Deputy Head of the Department of Agriculture and Rural Development of Tuy Phong district (Binh Thuan) said that the results of implementing the One Commune One Product (OCOP) program (phase 2021 - 2025) in Tuy Phong district, made by farmers themselves, have many unique products, favored by consumers and tourists such as anchovy fish sauce, cinnamon sausage, apples, fresh grapes...

According to Mr. Dinh Van Thanh, up to now, Tuy Phong district OCOP council has evaluated, classified and recognized 5 products as OCOP products with 3 stars or more (including 1 product expected to achieve 4 stars at the provincial level).
Specifically, Apple products of Phong Phu Agricultural Service Cooperative, Hong Nhat Grape products of Le My vineyard business owner, Phuoc The commune, Pitayana Dragon Fruit Wine 14% Vol and Pitayana Dragon Fruit Wine 15% Vol of Tran Khang Phong Production and Trading Company Limited.
Notably, there is the original pure premium anchovy fish sauce product with 32 degrees of nitrogen - Royal Fish Sauce Brand (Van Xuan FMCG INVESTMENT Co., Ltd. - Binh Thuan Branch located in Binh Thanh Commune. This product is expected to achieve 4 stars at the provincial level (Tuy Phong district has transferred the product profile, submitted to the People's Committee of Binh Thuan province to request evaluation and classification according to regulations).

It is expected that in December, the district OCOP council will classify 6 more products, including dried green apples of Phong Phu Agricultural Service Cooperative, cinnamon sausage of Yen production facility (Binh Thanh commune). In addition, there are 4 melon products (yellow and green) of Hoa Minh High-tech Agricultural Cooperative and Thien An Cooperative.
These products have been granted 3-star OCOP certificates by Tuy Phong District People's Committee, have OCOP stamps and receive a bonus of 8 million VND for 1 product.
Talking to Dan Viet, Mr. Nguyen Trung Truc, Chairman of Tuy Phong District People's Committee said that recently, products and entities such as Green Apple, Cinnamon Rolls, Dragon Fruit Wine, Anchovy Fish Sauce... have been selected by the authorities of Binh Thuan province to participate in trade promotion activities inside and outside the province. These products are favored by consumers and customers, so the output of the products is increasingly wider...
“Through trade promotion activities, many consumers across the country know more about OCOP products of Tuy Phong district and feel more secure in using them…,” Mr. Nguyen Trung Truc shared.

Digital transformation in OCOP implementation
According to Tuy Phong District People's Committee, recently, the authorities have completed the software to digitize the process of implementing the OCOP program. This software helps to receive product dossiers, the Working Group to evaluate the initial dossiers and the OCOP appraisal council at the district level to evaluate and score on this software.
In order for people to use the software proficiently, provincial and district authorities have opened many training courses for the subjects to master. Thanks to that, the management of the OCOP program at the district level is increasingly convenient.
Tuy Phong District People's Committee assigned specific responsibilities to communes and the Department of Agriculture and Rural Development. In particular, localities were assigned to regularly inspect and supervise recognized OCOP products, especially the use of stamps, labels, packaging, and product quality.

Thanks to the above practical contents, the subjects, cooperative units, cooperative groups, and individual business households in Tuy Phong district have improved and enhanced product quality, promoted trade... thereby meeting the needs of consumers.
According to Mr. Nguyen Trung Truc, Chairman of Tuy Phong District People's Committee, the recognition of 3-star OCOP products is based on the criteria set in Decision 148/QD-TTg dated February 24, 2023 of the Prime Minister .
And up to now, the whole Tuy Phong district has had 6 products that meet the OCOP standard of 3 stars or higher, including Song Long Song Rice of My Pho Food Milling Facility - Phu Lac Commune (being inspected, evaluated, and re-classified because the recognition has expired), Phong Phu Apple products, Hong Nhat Grapes - Phuoc The, 2 Dragon Fruit Wine products - Chi Cong Commune and the original pure premium anchovy fish sauce product with 32 degrees of nitrogen - Royal Fish Sauce Brand.

It is expected that from now until the end of 2024, the OCOP Council at the district level will organize the evaluation and classification of 6 products: dried green apples of Phong Phu Agricultural Service Cooperative and cinnamon sausage and pork sausage of Huynh Thien Cam Hong business household, Binh Thanh commune and 4 melon products (yellow and green fruit) of Hoa Minh High-tech Agricultural Cooperative and Thien An Cooperative.
Thus, by the end of 2024, Tuy Phong district will have 12 products recognized as OCOP products with 3 stars or more (including 1 product with 4 stars at the provincial level).
According to the People's Committee of Tuy Phong district (Binh Thuan), with the attention and direction of implementation with the help and guidance of provincial departments and branches, the OCOP program in the district has recently achieved many positive results, bringing clear effects in the restructuring of the rural economy. Thereby, contributing to changing people's awareness from traditional, small-scale production to market economy production.

The One Commune One Product (OCOP) program has been identified by the Prime Minister as one of the important solutions, not only contributing to increasing income for communes building new rural areas, but also a solution for socio-economic development for localities.
The OCOP program is considered one of the effective solutions to implement the National Target Program on new rural construction.
Tuy Phong district sea area
Tuy Phong district is located in the North of Binh Thuan province, with a natural area of 79,385.54 hectares, administrative units including 2 towns and 9 communes, bordering Ninh Thuan province and Lam Dong province.
The district center is located in Lien Huong town, 90km north of Phan Thiet city, with National Highway 1A passing through 43km long and the North-South railway passing through 38km long.
