The event was organized by the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism (MCST) in coordination with the People's Committee of Binh Dinh province.
The event was attended by more than 1,000 artisans, actors, and athletes from 11 central provinces, including: Thanh Hoa, Quang Binh, Quang Tri, Thua Thien Hue, Quang Nam, Quang Ngai, Binh Dinh, Phu Yen, Khanh Hoa, Ninh Thuan, and Binh Thuan .

The highlight of the opening ceremony was the art program, with the theme "The Central region is a shimmering convergence of colors". The program has 3 chapters, including: Binh Dinh - a thousand-year legend; Cultural colors of the Central ethnic groups; The Central region integrates and develops with the big family of Vietnamese ethnic groups.
In his opening speech, Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism Nguyen Van Hung shared that the Central region is considered a place where many cultural values converge, transition and crystallize.
The ethnic communities in the Central region have contributed to creating a colorful cultural picture with a history of more than 2,000 years, typically the Sa Huynh culture and the Champa civilization.

Minister Nguyen Van Hung hopes that the Central Ethnic Culture Festival will be an opportunity to honor and promote the unique and distinctive cultural values of the Central ethnic groups to the people and international tourists.
Thereby, contributing to promoting traditional cultural values associated with tourism development, creating momentum for socio -economic development of localities," the Minister shared.
Binh Dinh Provincial Party Secretary Ho Quoc Dung shared that over the years, the province has always prioritized investment resources to support ethnic minority areas. In particular, it has promoted the implementation of the national target program on socio-economic development in ethnic minority and mountainous areas of the province, period 2021-2030.
This event is an opportunity for Binh Dinh province to promote and introduce cultural tourism products of the homeland and people of Binh Dinh to friends and domestic and foreign tourists, linking the work of preserving, conserving and promoting the value of cultural heritage with sustainable tourism development.
