On November 11, the Ho Chi Minh City Union of Trading Cooperatives ( Saigon Co.op ) and JFSM entered a new chapter when they signed a strategic cooperation agreement in the field of food safety. This agreement is a strategic push when Saigon Co.op chose to apply the JFS standard set - a system recognized in Japan and many Asian countries for more than 200 food suppliers in its system, with the goal of "Vietnamese goods - global quality".

Mr. Duong Minh Quang, Deputy General Director of Saigon Co.op shared: “Over 35 years of development, we have always put food quality and safety first. Signing with JFSM will help standardize and operate the quality management system according to international standards, applying technology in traceability, from production to the table”.
Mr. Masanori Kotani, Chairman of JFSM commented: “Saigon Co.op is a typical partner in Vietnam with a strong commitment to food quality and safety. This cooperation will open up opportunities to share experiences and raise food safety standards in Vietnam and the region.”
According to the cooperation content, the two sides will jointly implement: Training human resources for quality control; standardizing production and business processes; evaluating and improving the food safety management system; promoting the JFS management model - all to ensure transparency and safety for Vietnamese consumers. The agreement also aims to build a separate food safety standard for the Saigon Co.op system, contributing to increasing the value of Vietnamese goods.

It is noteworthy that Saigon Co.op does not stop at end-to-end control. They have a team of more than 200 specialized quality control personnel, coordinating with international standard testing centers and state management agencies. The cooperation program with JFSM is the next step in a long-term strategy: From supplier selection, production, transportation, storage to distribution, all must meet international standards to move towards a transparent, synchronized and sustainable supply chain.
The signing with JFSM is seen as a clear message that Saigon Co.op wants to affirm the position of Vietnamese goods in the international market, while committing to protect the interests of domestic consumers: "We aim for a food supply system that is safe, high-quality and socially responsible," Mr. Duong Minh Quang emphasized.
Through this, Saigon Co.op not only enhances its own competitiveness but also contributes to the larger strategy of developing a circular economy , modern retail industry and ensuring food safety in the context of deep integration.
