According to information from the Department of Domestic Market Management and Development ( Ministry of Industry and Trade ), in the past 2 weeks, the Working Groups of the Market Management Department have continuously monitored business activities at Saigon Square Shopping Center (District 1, Ho Chi Minh City) to promptly prevent violations.

Faced with inspection and supervision by authorities, many stalls have closed, even packed and transported goods out of the business location to avoid inspection.

However, during the monitoring process on June 13, the working group discovered two business households selling products with signs of counterfeiting famous trademarks registered for protection in Vietnam.

Specifically, at kiosk 47T-49T owned by Ms. Ngo Thi Hang Nga, a Hermes leather wallet from France is listed at 150,000 VND/product. In the line of handbags of Chanel, Gucci or Louis Vuitton brands at this business household, the price ranges from 280,000-380,000 VND/product... much lower than the selling price on the company's website.

Similarly, at kiosk 3B+9D owned by Ms. Vo Thi Kieu Oanh, products such as T-shirts of the Lacoste, Boss or Polo brands were listed at only 100,000-150,000 VND/product. After the inspection, the working groups drew up a record and temporarily detained a total of nearly 400 counterfeit products at the two above business locations.

Previously, on May 29, 6 working groups of the Department of Domestic Market Management and Development inspected a series of booths at Saigon Square Trade Center. Authorities said that although many booths were closed to avoid detection, thousands of counterfeit products of world-famous brands such as watches, handbags, wallets and eyeglasses were still discovered and seized by authorities.
