According to Digital Trends , Samsung has just officially launched the 'Galaxy Easy Reward' program in Korea, allowing users to sell their old Galaxy phones directly to the company without having to buy a new device. This is considered a direct competition with existing old phone purchasing services on the market.

The program applies to a range of Galaxy phones, from the Galaxy S20 to the Galaxy Z Fold 5 and Z Flip 5. However, the latest models such as the Galaxy S24, Galaxy Z Fold 6 and Z Flip 6 are not currently supported.
Samsung will provide an initial estimate based on the model and condition of the device. Once the device is received, Samsung will thoroughly inspect it and determine the final price. Phones are graded into three levels: 'Excellent', 'Good' (can be resold) and 'Recycle' (can be disassembled for parts).
According to Jung Ho-jin, Vice President of Samsung Electronics, the Galaxy Easy Reward program aims to add long-term value to Galaxy products while contributing to the promotion of a circular economy .
By buying back old phones at good prices, Samsung hopes to attract users to choose its products, while competing with Apple - which is famous for its ability to retain the longest value in the used device market.
It is expected that after launching in Korea, the Galaxy Easy Reward program will be deployed in many other countries in the near future.
