On December 15th, the People's Committee of Lam Dong province announced that the province had signed a decision approving the investment plan for the Phan Thiet Airport project, specifically the civil aviation component in Mui Ne ward.

The project contributes to the completion of the airport system in accordance with the aviation transport development plan for the period 2021-2030, with a vision to 2050.

For the civil aviation sector, the airport covers an area of ​​over 74 hectares, serving civil aviation aircraft of category 4E, ensuring a capacity of two million passengers per year by 2030, and operating irregular domestic and international flights to serve the travel needs of the people, tourists, and domestic and foreign investors.

The total estimated investment for the project is approximately VND 3,797 billion, determined through a preliminary calculation of the total project implementation costs based on the total investment level of the project as stipulated by construction law, excluding compensation, support, and resettlement costs.

After 24 months from the end of the stipulated investment project's operational objectives, if the investor still fails to achieve these objectives and does not fall under the cases eligible for adjustment of the schedule as stipulated by investment law, the investment registration authority shall decide to terminate the project's operation.
