A representative of Tan Son Nhat International Airport informed that according to the flight plan on February 14 (the 5th day of Tet), there will be 934 flights with nearly 148,000 passengers traveling.
Specifically, the number of domestic visitors reached more than 100,000 (including 66,000 arrivals and more than 34,000 departures); international visitors reached 47,000. Compared to the previous day, the number of visitors on the 5th day of Tet increased by more than 12,000 visitors.
During the peak period of the Lunar New Year, it is expected that there will be about 860 - 900 flights arriving and departing from Tan Son Nhat airport each day, with an average passenger volume of about 135,000 - 140,000 people.
Thus, the number of passengers at Tan Son Nhat airport on the 5th day of Tet exceeded the forecast of the number of flights and passengers to set a new peak since entering the peak service period of the Year of the Dragon.
Previously, the highest level before Tet was on February 7 (28th of Tet) with 134,000 visitors and on February 13 (4th of Tet) with 136,000 visitors.
