Digital technology products made in Vietnam are the crystallization of scientific and technological achievements and are ready to compete in the world market. This is the comment of Mr. Hoang Quang Phong, Vice President of the Vietnam Federation of Commerce and Industry (VCCI), at the press conference to announce and launch the "Make in Vietnam Digital Technology Product" award in 2024, organized by the Ministry of Information and Communications in coordination with VCCI on the morning of August 22.

2024 is the 5th year the award has been held with many new features, aiming to honor outstanding digital technology products, bringing pride to Vietnamese intelligence, creating new momentum for economic growth, creating national competitive advantages and increasing labor productivity, creating more practical and comprehensive results, bringing value to people and businesses in digital transformation, developing the digital economy for industries, socio-economic fields and new digital technology products.

In addition, the award also continues to honor Vietnamese digital technology products that conquer the world, contribute to the development of humanity and make Vietnam prosperous. This year's award will have 8 categories, including 5 categories for digital technology products serving digital transformation, digital economic development in industries and fields (replacing 3 categories in 2023: Digital Government, Digital Economy and Digital Society). The new categories will basically cover all economic sectors of Vietnam, demonstrating digital application innovations, digital transformation for industries and fields, promoting labor productivity improvement, including: outstanding digital technology products in the fields of industry and construction; outstanding digital technology products in the fields of agriculture , resources and environment; outstanding digital technology products in the fields of transportation, post and logistics; outstanding digital technology products in the fields of education, health, culture and society; Outstanding digital technology products in the fields of finance, banking, trade and services. In addition to maintaining the two categories as in 2023, which are outstanding digital technology products for foreign markets and potential digital technology products, this year will add the category of outstanding new technology products to search for and honor products related to AI, Bigdata, IoT, semiconductors. There are also some changes to the subjects participating in the award. The potential digital technology product category only applies to micro, small enterprises or innovative startups established under Vietnamese law (if it is a foreign-invested enterprise, Vietnamese people must own at least 51% of the total shares). For the category of outstanding digital technology products for foreign markets, in addition to domestic enterprises with Vietnamese people holding controlling shares, the subject will be added to enterprises established abroad but with Vietnamese people owning at least 51% of the total shares. Deputy Minister of Information and Communications Bui Hoang Phuong said: "The Ministry of Information and Communications coordinates with VCCI to organize and select and award gold, silver, bronze and top 10 awards for the best digital technology products and commits to accompany businesses with award-winning products to bring digital technology products to the market, meeting the needs of the economy, businesses and the community". According to Mr. Hoang Quang Phong, Vice President of VCCI, through 4 times of organization, the award has discovered and honored 234 digital technology products made in Vietnam. "This is a meaningful and proud number when the products crystallizing scientific and technological achievements are ready to "fight" and compete in the world market. The business community and Vietnamese people can enjoy the scientific and technological achievements made by domestic digital technology businesses", Mr. Phong assessed. The time to receive registration and application documents for the award from businesses starts from now until October 22. The award ceremony is expected to be held next December, within the framework of the National Forum on Developing Vietnamese Digital Technology Enterprises.
