Each relic and landscape of this land is associated with historical figures, events, legends, and mysteries of saints, heroines, and both gods and angels in the Vietnamese consciousness. This is a priceless asset passed down from our ancestors, and a great internal resource of Chi Linh city in realizing its aspiration to develop its homeland.

Kiep Bac has long been a historical legend and marks the glorious feats of the national hero Tran Hung Dao, who is revered by the people as Saint Tran.
According to the book Hai Duong Monuments and Landscapes, Kiep Bac during the Tran Dynasty belonged to Van Kiep village, Lang Giang road, now Hung Dao commune (Chi Linh). Kiep Bac has a Dragon mountain range shaped like a throne arm surrounding a fertile and poetic valley. This is also the place where famous battles took place in the history of the resistance war against the Yuan-Mongol army for the 2nd and 3rd times of the Tran army and people in the 13th century.
In terms of terrain, from Kiep Bac there are 6 river and road routes, going back and forth is convenient such as to Thang Long, to the sea, to the North, down to the plains. The valleys connected to Luc Dau River can gather hundreds of thousands of naval and land troops, thousands of warships. From the top of Nam Tao and Bac Dau mountains, one can observe a vast area, mountains, rivers, immense villages, bustling ships going back and forth. Therefore, this is not only a majestic landscape but also an important military position.
After defeating the Yuan army, Tran Hung Dao lived peaceful years and died in Kiep Bac. Due to his contributions to the nation, during his lifetime, people built a temple for Tran Hung Dao called Sinh Tu. The temple was later restored in a plot of land in the center of Kiep Bac valley.
About 5 km southwest of Kiep Bac is Con Son mountain. If Kiep Bac temple is associated with the name of national hero Tran Hung Dao, Con Son is known as the ancestral land of Truc Lam Zen sect and is the place that marks the life of national hero - world cultural celebrity Nguyen Trai.
Ky Lan Mountain, also known as Con Son, is commonly known as Hun Mountain, nearly 200m high and over 1km long, located in Chi Ngai Commune, Phuong Son District during the Tran Dynasty, now Cong Hoa Ward (Chi Linh). When mentioning Con Son, people often remember Nguyen Trai, however, few people know that Con Son was originally the fiefdom of Quan Tu Do Tran Nguyen Dan (Nguyen Trai's maternal grandfather). Tran Nguyen Dan was a man who favored the country's cause, had literary and martial talents, and understood the times. During the Long Khanh period, Tran Nguyen Dan built Thanh Hu cave on Con Son Mountain as a resting place.
As a child, Nguyen Trai was raised by his grandfather in Thanh Hu cave. In 1400, Nguyen Trai (alias Uc Trai) passed the Thai Hoc Sinh exam, or Doctorate. After the Ming invaders used the excuse of invading our country, Nguyen Trai joined the Lam Son army and presented "Binh Ngo Sach", assisting Le Loi in leading the uprising against the invaders to save the country. He contributed greatly to the success of the uprising, and at the same time became a founding hero of the Later Le dynasty.
The country was at peace, Nguyen Trai returned to Con Son. From then on, although he was a high-ranking mandarin, he lived in Con Son most of the time. Also here, the hero and his entire family were involved in the historical injustice of "Le Chi Vien" and were sentenced to extermination of the entire family. More than 20 years later, he was exonerated by King Le Thanh Tong and honored as "Uc Trai tam thuong quang khue tao". Nguyen Trai was honored as a National Hero and was honored by UNESCO as a National Hero and an outstanding cultural figure.
Today, Con Son scenic spot is located in a mountainous area, with a large lake in front and a green root area on the right. This is also a special-use forest area; in addition to the main pine trees, there are also bamboo, wild bananas, sim, mua and medicinal plants... the air is cool all year round. Coming to Con Son, visitors not only hear the sound of pine trees but also the murmur of streams and the chirping of birds creating a symphony of the majestic Con Son mountains and forests.
About 6 km southeast of Con Son is Phuong Hoang mountain in Kiet Dac land, now Van An ward. This is where Chu Van An, an exemplary teacher of the Tran dynasty, retired from office to build a house to teach and lived the last years of his life.
According to the book "Relics and scenic spots of Hai Duong", after submitting a memorial to behead seven sycophants, called "That beheading memorial" but not accepted by the king, he returned his official hat and clothes to travel the world. Arriving at the land of Chi Linh, he saw Phuong Hoang mountain with immense pine forests and clear, murmuring streams. He stayed, built a house on the mountainside to teach, find medicinal plants, write poems, and write books to leave for posterity. Teacher Chu Van An was honored as "Van the su bieu" meaning teacher of all generations.
Today, the place where he lived during his last years has been named after him and has become the Phoenix relic site, attracting tens of thousands of tourists every year.
From the peak of Con Son, looking northwest 10 km, there is a majestic mountain forest, at an altitude of about 250 m, there is an ancient architectural work, that is Thanh Mai Pagoda. This is the pagoda associated with the second patriarch of the Truc Lam Zen sect, Venerable Phap Loa. Along with the system of pagodas in the Northeast arc such as: Yen Tu - Quynh Lam - Con Son - Bao An and Vinh Nghiem, Thanh Mai Pagoda is a great scenic spot, a Buddhist center of the Tran Dynasty.
In the pagoda, there are 7 valuable steles, of which the most prominent is Thanh Mai Vien Thong tower bi. Coming to Thanh Mai pagoda is not only to find Buddha but also to find nature. Thanh Mai is one of the areas that still preserves the largest natural forest area in Hai Duong with two types of trees: tram and chestnut and many precious woods such as lim, sen, and lat.
In addition, in Chi Linh city there is also a temple to worship Doctor Nguyen Thi Due - the first and only woman to pass the doctoral exam in feudal Vietnam and a temple to worship Nhan Hue Vuong Tran Khanh Du... along with many other famous historical figures.
…to its own potential advantages
Besides the Con Son - Kiep Bac relic site ranked as a special national relic, Chi Linh also has 10 nationally ranked relics, 20 provincially ranked relics and 101 traditional festivals each year.
To promote this advantage, the locality has developed the Project "Developing tourism in Chi Linh city to 2025, with a vision to 2035". Since implementing the project (June 2021) up to now, Chi Linh city has spent more than 418.9 billion VND to invest in traffic infrastructure, renovate and restore relics, tourist destinations, entertainment areas, and build auxiliary works to develop tourism. The locality is interested in building tourism products suitable to reality such as sightseeing tourism, festival tourism, sports tourism combined with entertainment and business tourism, conferences and seminars. Currently, the city has 32 OCOP products associated with relic sites such as Chi Linh honey, An Lac yellow sticky rice, Chi Linh hill chicken, etc.
The city has 35 accommodation establishments with more than 500 rooms, including 1 3-star hotel and 2 tourist accommodation establishments; 16 stops combined with product introductions for tourists, 55 food service establishments under city management. With such facilities, Chi Linh tourism basically meets the needs of tourists.
The most obvious highlight demonstrating the determination of the Chi Linh City Party Committee is the planning of the core tourism development area in the city's general planning with a vision to 2040. Specifically, the area for developing spiritual, ecological and resort tourism associated with the preservation of special national cultural heritage has a scale of 7,510 hectares in the wards and communes of Cong Hoa, Le Loi, Hung Dao, Van An, Hoang Tan, Chi Minh, Pha Lai, Co Thanh, and Bac An.
Chi Linh City also promotes tourism promotion on mass media; at the same time, actively participates in trade promotion conferences to help introduce typical agricultural products and to promote local tourism products.
Thanks to that, Chi Linh tourism has made new strides. In 2022 alone, Chi Linh welcomed 820,891 visitors. Total tourism revenue in the area since the project was implemented is estimated at more than 489.6 billion VND, reaching 69% of the plan. Income from tourism has gradually increased, contributing to the local socio-economic development. In the first 8 months of 2023, the city's tourism revenue is estimated at 200 billion VND, attracting nearly 1 million visitors.
Chi Linh-Hai Duong Festival 2023 – "Launch pad" for tourism development
For the past half century, especially since the Con Son - Kiep Bac relic site was ranked as a special national relic, the Con Son - Kiep Bac Festival has become a major festival of the whole country. A rare coincidence, the beginning of the Kiep Bac festival (16th of the 8th lunar month) is the anniversary of Nguyen Trai's death, and the end of the temple festival is the anniversary of Tran Hung Dao's death (20th of the 8th lunar month). Therefore, in addition to the spring festival like most localities in the country, Chi Linh also leaves a strong impression on tourists thanks to the Con Son - Kiep Bac Autumn Festival.
This year, with the desire to continue attracting the attention of all levels and sectors in realizing the aspiration to develop Chi Linh city according to the Resolution of the City Party Congress, Chi Linh will organize the Chi Linh-Hai Duong Festival 2023 for the first time in parallel with the Con Son-Kiep Bac Autumn Festival.
With the theme "Convergence of quintessence - Aspiration to shine", Chi Linh - Hai Duong Festival 2023 will take place for 11 days, from September 24 to October 4, 2023 (from August 10 to August 20, Quy Mao year) at 3 locations: Sao Do Square, Mau Sinh Temple National Relic Site - Thanh Hoa Temple and Con Son - Kiep Bac Special National Relic Site.
As a particularly important cultural and tourism festival, Chi Linh - Hai Duong Festival 2023 is organized as a series of events.
