On the afternoon of June 11, the Department of Agriculture and Environment issued a document requesting departments, branches and localities to proactively respond to heavy rain, the risk of floods, flash floods, landslides and the impact of storm No. 1 (international name: WUTIP).

According to the National Center for Hydro-Meteorological Forecasting, on the morning of June 11, 2025, the tropical depression in the eastern area of ​​Hoang Sa archipelago strengthened into a storm, the number 1 storm of 2025. In the next 24-48 hours, the storm will move slowly in the West-Northwest direction at a speed of about 5-10 km/hour, with the possibility of strengthening further.

In Dak Lak province, according to the assessment of the provincial Hydrometeorological Station, from the evening of May 11 to the early morning of May 13, there will be widespread rain, with some places experiencing moderate to heavy rain with common rainfall from 20 - 50 mm; some places with heavier rain such as Ea Sup district, Buon Don, Cu M'gar, Krong Ana, Cu Kuin, Lak, Buon Ma Thuot city can reach from 50 - 100 mm.

Heavy rains are likely to cause flash floods on small rivers and streams; landslides on steep slopes and flooding in low-lying areas.

Accordingly, the Department of Agriculture and Environment - the standing agency for natural disaster prevention and control of the Provincial Steering Committee for Natural Disaster Prevention and Control and Search and Rescue recommends: People's Committees of districts, towns and cities closely monitor forecasts and warnings about heavy rain, floods, inundation, flash floods, landslides and provide timely and complete information to local authorities and people to proactively prevent.

Organize forces to guard, control, support, and guide to ensure safe traffic for people and vehicles, especially at culverts, spillways, deep flooded areas, fast-flowing water, areas where landslides have occurred or are at risk of landslides... to prevent unfortunate human losses due to carelessness and subjectivity; arrange forces, materials, and means to overcome incidents, ensuring smooth traffic on main traffic routes when heavy rain occurs. Prepare forces and means for rescue when requested.

At the same time, inspect and review key works and works under construction, paying attention to dams and reservoirs at risk of being unsafe, and natural disaster prevention and control works to proactively prepare response plans to ensure the safety of works and downstream areas when floods occur; prepare plans to ensure safety for agricultural production...

Propose that the Provincial Military Command, Provincial Border Guard Command, and Provincial Police proactively mobilize forces and means to support localities in search and rescue work and overcoming the consequences of natural disasters when situations occur.

Units under the Department of Agriculture and Environment, according to their assigned functions and tasks, coordinate and guide localities and related units to prepare response plans for all types of natural disasters caused by the impact of storm No. 1.
