Ninh Thuan e-commerce platform: Need to improve to increase purchasing power

Operating since December 30, 2022, up to now, the Ninh Thuan province e-commerce platform (http://sanphamninhthuan.com) has had many connections, supporting businesses (DN), cooperatives (HTX) to bring agricultural products, specialties, OCOP products, rural industrial products to the platform. However, the number of transactions on the platform has not been as expected. The platform still needs to improve many factors and features, enhance recognition, and strengthen propaganda activities to attract consumers and increase purchasing power.

Enterprises and cooperatives that have put their products on the website http://sanphamninhthuan.com all acknowledge that relevant departments, branches and units have provided a lot of support to connect and put products on the floor as well as post information and images of products, support payment, and transport orders... However, putting goods on the floor is currently mainly to promote and introduce images of local products. Because in reality, the number of transactions, interactions and revenue is still modest. Mr. Nguyen Dinh Quang, Director of Thai Thuan Agricultural Products Production and Trading Company Limited, Nhon Son Commune (Ninh Son) said: The company has put dried grapes, dried apples and grape syrup on the Ninh Thuan e-commerce floor for more than half a year now. The floor has been effective in promoting and introducing products because through this floor, many customers know about the company's products and contact the company directly from the phone number and contact address provided on the floor. However, in terms of purchasing power, the company's revenue from transactions on the provincial e-commerce platform is very modest. The company hopes that in the coming time, the platform will improve payment features and operations to update information and product images in a more friendly and modern way. Continue to develop and improve the effectiveness of information and propaganda work to contribute to increasing revenue and attracting more consumers to the provincial e-commerce platform.

It is known that in the past time, the e-commerce platform operator has supported 62 booths for enterprises, cooperatives, production and business establishments to conduct business on the provincial e-commerce platform with 257 products, including 123 OCOP products. Comrade Tran Quoc Sanh, Deputy Director of the Department of Industry and Trade shared: The provincial e-commerce platform is fully integrated with basic features to contribute to promoting and introducing the province's products. However, because it is a local e-commerce platform, the management mechanism and payment methods will be different from large e-commerce platforms invested and operated by companies; personnel to operate the platform also face many difficulties. In fact, in the past time, the target number of traders in the province participating in transactions on the Ninh Thuan e-commerce platform has not reached the set goals and plans. Some enterprises and cooperatives participating in the Ninh Thuan e-commerce platform have not been active and regular in posting information introducing and promoting products, prices of goods, and product images; Suppliers and sellers on the platform have not actively coordinated to process orders, delivered goods slowly or did not interact with customers when orders arose, which greatly affected the attraction of customers to buy products on the provincial e-commerce platform. Therefore, the Department recommends that localities strengthen advocacy, propaganda, and persuasion of enterprises, cooperatives, production and business establishments in the area to actively participate in the provincial e-commerce platform.

In order for consumers to know more about Ninh Thuan e-commerce platform, in recent times, the platform operator has strengthened communication and information activities about the platform, especially in conjunction with the propaganda activities of the Campaign "Vietnamese people prioritize using Vietnamese goods", organizing Ninh Thuan province's e-commerce trading week, advertising the platform on social networking platforms Facebook, Youtube, Zalo. Thereby, reaching more than 107,000 customers, generating 200 accounts participating in the platform with more than 118 orders, contributing to introducing and promoting the product images of establishments and enterprises on the provincial e-commerce platform to domestic consumers. At the same time, the connection program has helped participating units access and grasp booth management skills (writing product descriptions; processing product images and videos ), buying and selling processes, order processing as well as connecting shipping units to grasp the delivery process, packaging methods, and sending products when there is a successful transaction order.

Many consumers said that in order to take advantage of and promote the advantages of local e-commerce platforms in the digital age, in the long term, management agencies and businesses need to prepare and invest carefully. Mr. Pham Van Thanh, Tan Tai ward (Phan Rang - Thap Cham city) expressed: When accessing the provincial e-commerce platform, I saw that some images and promotional information, product introductions have not been updated properly, lack of features to track product feedback and reviews from customers, the account registration process is still relatively complicated, and the access speed is not high. In my opinion, businesses and cooperatives that have put products on the platform need to focus on creating a brand identity, while creating an environment for multi-dimensional and effective trading connections between platforms. In addition, the platform needs to improve the interface, content and support methods to promote the widespread application of e-commerce in businesses and the community to increasingly approach the tastes and markets.
