This morning, the National Assembly finalized the shortening of the National Assembly term and set the date for the national election.

NDO - The National Assembly will vote to pass two resolutions on shortening the term of the 15th National Assembly and People's Councils at all levels for the 2021-2026 term; and the national election day for the election of deputies to the 16th National Assembly and People's Councils at all levels for the 2026-2031 term.

According to the Program of the 9th Session of the 15th National Assembly , this morning (May 21), the National Assembly held a plenary session in the hall to listen to the Presentation and Report on the examination of the draft Law amending and supplementing a number of articles of the Law on the Vietnam Fatherland Front, the Law on Trade Unions, the Law on Youth and the Law on Implementing Democracy at the Grassroots Level.

After that, the National Assembly discussed in the hall about shortening the term of the 15th National Assembly and People's Councils at all levels for the 2021-2026 term; National election day for the election of deputies to the 16th National Assembly and People's Councils at all levels for the 2026-2031 term.

Next, the National Assembly voted to pass the National Assembly's Resolution on shortening the term of the 15th National Assembly and People's Councils at all levels for the 2021-2026 term; voted to pass the National Assembly's Resolution on the national election day for the election of deputies to the 16th National Assembly and People's Councils at all levels for the 2026-2031 term; and discussed in the hall the draft Law amending and supplementing a number of articles of the Law on Election of National Assembly Deputies and People's Council Deputies.

In the afternoon, the National Assembly discussed in groups the draft Law amending and supplementing a number of articles of the Law on the Vietnam Fatherland Front, the Law on Trade Unions, the Law on Youth and the Law on Grassroots Democracy; the draft Resolution of the National Assembly on piloting a number of specific mechanisms and policies for social housing development; the draft Resolution of the National Assembly replacing Resolution No. 35/2021/QH15 dated November 13, 2021 of the National Assembly on piloting a number of specific mechanisms and policies for the development of Hai Phong city.
