Santa Fe Vietnam Roadtrip 2025 – Journey of emotions
As I am writing these lines, I feel as if I am still in Ca Mau , the southernmost region of the Fatherland, as if I am still participating in the journey called "Emotional Five Palaces" organized by Hyundai Thanh Cong, with the main "character" being the new Santa Fe model.
It is a journey of 5 routes. Divided into 5 stages. Based on inspiration from the pentatonic scale (5 tones, 5 musical notes including: Cung, Thuong, Gioc, Chuy, and Vu).
Ms. Do Lan Dung - Director of Communications and Branding, Hyundai Thanh Cong Vietnam, member of the Organizing Committee shared: “The journey with cars now is not simply to describe, tell about the designs, features, go to evaluate its performance. But must attach it to experiences, emotions. Must learn a lot about the values of culture, people and land of Vietnam. Santa Fe Vietnam Roadtrip 2025 is such a journey”.
On the sacred S-shaped strip of land, each route is not just a journey, but a living chapter of history, the breath of heaven and earth through the time of the children of Vietnam.
Like a heroic epic in the timeline of the full Pentatonic scale, sometimes as calm as a country song (the Thuong note), sometimes soaring high and clear in the vast wilderness (the Gioc note), sometimes as romantic and passionate as silk (the Chuy note), sometimes as warm and complete as the love of the homeland and motherland (the Cung note)...
And I am so lucky to be here, Dat Mui, to start the journey of the Five-tone Emotions with the route from Ca Mau - Bac Lieu - Soc Trang - Can Tho with the melody of Vu (strong melody, bright as the dawn). Going to Santa Fe, taking a car but coming back I will have many stories to tell about Uncle Ba Phi's bragging talent, about canals, gardens, rowing, boating, the deliciousness of Nam Can crab, the famous debauchery of Cong Tu Bac Lieu, the attractiveness of Don ca tai tu, or the sacred feeling when standing at the last point of the Fatherland.
Go to Ca Mau Cape to love the "land" and "water"
My career gives me the opportunity to set foot in many regions of Vietnam. Although I have traveled a lot, it is not easy to be present at all 4 poles on the map of the Fatherland. I have proudly set foot on Lung Cu Flagpole (the northernmost point), A Pa Chai milestone 0 (the westernmost point), and also walked to the easternmost point in Phu Yen. But I have missed the southernmost point many times, and have not had the chance to go there. Ca Mau Cape is a sacred place in the hearts of every Vietnamese person, a place everyone wants to visit once. And this time, thanks to Santa Fe Vietnam Roadtrip 2025 - the journey of Five Emotions, my wish has come true.
Starting with the first day of the journey of Five Emotions - Touching the River Region, we started our journey on a Hyundai Santa Fe at the end of Vietnam - Ca Mau airport. More than 1 hour of flying on an ATR 72 from Saigon to Ca Mau made many members of the group dizzy. But that feeling passed very quickly when seeing the land and people of the West through the window of the new Santa Fe. Whether sitting in the driver's seat or one of the two business class seats in the back, I clearly felt the comfort and convenience on the long and continuous journey.
The point that everyone must mention is the suspension system on the new Santa Fe. The characteristic of the Western road is that every few kilometers there is a bridge, the bridge abutment is very high and the road up to the bridge is steep. The front/rear suspension system of the Hyundai Santa Fe 2025 uses many improved materials to increase stability and reduce vibration compared to the previous generation, so every time the car passes over the bridge abutment, the vibration is quickly extinguished, the car passes smoothly.
After driving for about 2 hours, we arrived at the first destination: U Minh Ha Forest. In front of us was a vast expanse of green cajuput trees, and below us was flooded peatland, where thousands of stories of sacred forests and poisonous waters were preserved. U Minh Ha - the green lung of the southernmost land, is not only a precious ecological heritage but also a space associated with many legends and memories. Take a boat through the forest, see each row of trees, smell the soil mixed with the scent of cajuput trees - all senses seemed to be awakened in the middle of pristine nature.
In the middle of a windy afternoon, the group heard stories about Uncle Ba Phi - a folk legend of the South. His humorous, simple yet profound stories made laughter echo throughout the cajuput forest, adding vitality to the unfolding journey.
I think with Santa Fe – the journey is not just about moving, but also about experiencing all five senses. The smoothness, power and modern support technology take us through the first emotions of “Vu”. On the second day of the journey, when dawn just broke, the Santa Fe Vietnam Roadtrip 2025 group was ready to conquer Ca Mau Cape – the legendary southernmost point of the Fatherland.
Under the clear blue sky, the powerful Santa Fe glided through the unique road through Mui Ca Mau National Park, bringing a feeling of excitement mixed with pride. It must be said that although the time spent in the car was quite long, everyone did not feel too tired thanks to the spacious and comfortable space inside the Santa Fe 2025.
The interior of the Hyundai Santa Fe 2025 has a minimalist but modern design, with an extended entertainment screen connected to a digital screen behind the steering wheel with each screen measuring up to 12.3 inches. It comes with Apple Car Play/Android Auto multimedia connectivity and a high-end BOSE sound system, Qi wireless charging... Even the safety equipment on the Hyundai Santa Fe 2025 is complete with ADAS active safety technology, so not only is it comfortable, but we also feel secure.
The morning journey took us through special destinations. From the end of the Ho Chi Minh Trail - where the great historical journey ended, marking an unforgettable milestone. From GPS 0001 Southernmost Point and the sacred moment when touching the last point on the map of Vietnam. Check-in at the iconic Cape Tau and take a boat to the alluvial sandbank - Where the motherland stretches out to the sea every year, like the living breath of nature. The Santa Fe with its powerful engine and outstanding safety features easily overcame the narrow roads, taking the group to each stop safely and comfortably. Someone in the group was right, Santa Fe not only takes us to where we need to go, but also takes our emotions further.
Coming to Bac Lieu to "live" with the culture of the Southwest region
After having lunch with Dat Mui’s specialty – grilled mudskipper, we traveled for about 3 and a half hours continuously. We traveled without stopping, in time to catch the sunset on Bac Lieu salt fields.
On that 160-kilometer journey, the 2025 Hyundai Santa Fe demonstrated its strength and durability when equipped with a 2.5L Smartstream gasoline engine, with a maximum capacity of 180-194 horsepower. The car uses a smooth 8-speed automatic transmission, accompanied by an HTRAC 4-wheel drive system that helps control the braking force between the wheels, ensuring safety when cornering and moving on difficult terrain. This system not only helps the car operate stably but also enhances the safety of the driver and passengers in all situations. Driving the new Santa Fe is both exciting and feels safe when the car uses an improved chassis platform system with full equipment of intelligent driving assistance technology with upgrades from the previous version, while the engine is upgraded and refined to provide a better driving experience.
At the end of the day, when the afternoon sunlight spread across the Bac Lieu salt fields, the whole group was immersed in the lives of the salt farmers. Bac Lieu salt has long been famous throughout the South for its rich, unique and very special flavor. Not only that, the vast salt fields are dyed a pure white color, creating a beautiful landscape. Bac Lieu's salt fields are often divided into many small rectangular squares, straight and very neat. After harvesting, the salt is piled into large piles. When there is sunlight, these piles of salt sparkle like diamonds growing in the middle of the field. Not only is the scenery beautiful, but the scene of Bac Lieu people in the Bac Lieu salt fields diligently picking salt evokes a simple beauty but also has a mysterious charm.
We carried heavy loads of salt together, feeling each grain of pure white salt - the crystallization of sweat and the earth. This experience was not only a challenge but also an opportunity to appreciate the value of labor of the people of the West. Santa Fe continued to be a reliable and steady companion on crowded roads, bringing absolute comfort to the whole group.
Coming to Bac Lieu without listening to Don Ca Tai Tu, without learning and “enjoying” this “delicious” folk culture is truly a big mistake. People call Bac Lieu the homeland of Don Ca Tai Tu because this place has produced many artisans and senior artists, including the talented artist Cao Van Lau (commonly known as Uncle Sau Lau). After more than 100 years, “Da Co Hoai Lang” has become a pillar song in the art of Don Ca Tai Tu and the Southern Cai Luong stage.
And that night, we listened, “played the role”, and sang famous vọng cổ verses. The surrounding space became cozy when the rustic đàn kim sounded. The melody of “Đạ cổ hoài lang” seemed to lull our souls, bringing our minds into the profound culture of the South. We ended the “Vũ ‘Khai Mo’” Journey – the first journey in the Five-Tone Emotional Journey with regret, with unforgettable impressions. From the pride of the far South, the respect for salt workers, to the quiet moments with the music of the traditional music…
Throughout Vu's journey, the Santa Fe not only impressed me with its powerful design but also with its outstanding performance. Regardless of the narrow or crowded roads of the West, the Santa Fe still ensures safety and comfort thanks to its powerful engine and advanced support features. This is the perfect choice for road trips to explore all emotions. Suddenly I realized that the Santa Fe is not only a vehicle, but also a source of inspiration for every journey.
