Sao Mai" Thu Huong: "I am always alert to temptations"

Sharing on the sidelines of the press conference introducing the music project Chuyen Chung Minh, which includes two music products: CD Chuyen Chung Minh and MV Thanh Pho Suong Muong , singer Vien Thu Huong admitted that the artistic environment has many temptations.

"There may be temptations from money, luxury goods, nice cars, even temptations from love... but when faced with those temptations, I still think I always keep my mind calm to recognize and avoid them. Everything has its price, if I am not alert and lose my way, I will not be able to return to the right path I want to go.

When I was studying at the Vietnam National Academy of Music, I had a few suitors. Among them, one told me: "You don't need to sing and perform like that anymore. I can take care of everything for you, a full life." But in return, I would have to follow their requests. Moreover, they already had families...", she said.

When asked, in the face of attractive offers, did Thu Huong not hesitate to refuse? She frankly said: "If I had accepted that day, who knows, I would be rich now, with many houses, many cars, many branded goods to show off (laughs). However, as I said, everything has its price. I want to sing, to be in control of my life, to be free. I don't want to trade and live like a bird in a gilded cage."

According to Thu Huong, not only is there a lot of temptation, the showbiz environment is also full of gossip and jealousy. She always tries not to get caught up in the noise, focusing only on music and teaching.

"I know many people say this and that about showbiz, but I always keep myself away from gossip. Maybe in other art fields, there is more jealousy and envy. Because there are many things, many attractions that make people easily jealous. But in the folk music and bolero environment, it is quite pure, there is little jealousy. Even the seniors are very loving and supportive of their juniors. Personally, I also received a lot of support from seniors such as singer Anh Tho, Ho Quang Tam...", the female singer confided.

Singer Vien Thu Huong won first prize in Thanh Hoa Television Singing Contest, Ha Tay Television Singing Contest and reached the final round of the Central Region of Sao Mai Contest 2007. She is currently teaching Vocal Music - Piano at the Central University of Art Education.

After 15 years working in the art field, for the first time Vien Thu Huong released 2 music products: CD Chuyen Chung Minh and MV Thanh Pho Suong Fog .

The CD "Our Story" includes 10 lyrical and bolero songs familiar to the audience such as: Loving someone far away (Hoang Phuong); The story of the person knitting a shirt (Truong Sa); Tears of a beautiful palace (Chau Ky); The first spring (Tuan Khanh)... In the CD, Thu Huong invited 3 singers to sing duets: Le Anh Dung, Luong Huy and Ho Quang Tam.
