19-year-old star makes Champions League history

In the early morning of June 1, Desire Doue became the youngest player to score and assist in the Champions League final.

In the 12th minute of the Champions League final, Doue entered the penalty area and passed the ball to Achraf Hakimi to score. Eight minutes later, the young star born in 2005 continued to make his mark by doubling the gap for PSG.

According to Opta , Doue is the 6th player to both score and assist in a Champions League final, and the youngest player in history to do so (19 years, 362 days). Before Doue, only 2 other teenagers had done this, namely Patrick Kluivert (1995) and Carlos Alberto (Porto vs Monaco).

Doue even did more than that, when he completed his double against Inter in the 63rd minute.

Doue had a great day.

"It's an honour to see a 19-year-old boy playing with such confidence and skill at the highest level. Making a mark in a Champions League final is every player's dream. Doue is living that dream. How far will he go?", former Manchester United player Rio Ferdinand praised Doue.

Doue's brace and goals from Hakimi, Kvaratskhelia, Mayulu helped PSG crush Inter 5-0, thereby winning the Champions League for the first time. History repeated itself when all 5 finals held at the Allianz Arena witnessed a team reaching the top of Europe for the first time. The person who helped PSG complete the treble (Ligue 1, National Cup, Champions League) was coach Luis Enrique with a squad of young, enthusiastic players.
